In my experience, a lot of people tend to undercut their own ability in TCGs. Most people assume you have to have some crazy analytical mind to get by, but basic understanding of how to deck build and the current Meta goes a long way. You're doing great ♡

The big difference between this and red card is that this is you get to choose to use it or not. With Red Card, if you see your opponent set up only a mon or 2 you can assume they have the evos in their hand, so using RC actually hurts them by potentially slowing their game plan.

It was a good match, but idunno, something about the idea of an abuser being allowed to have the chance to compete for the chance to create a card being allowed to compete on two occasions (one which he already won the grand prize) feels weird. Also sucks that a trans woman was denied it as result.

The first one is from jessicobra, reading "yeah no. hrt is cheap. lots of poor people transition. the only way that even remotely makes sense as an explanation is if you think that transition = sex change operation, which i suspect the author does, given this" with an attached picture of a scan from the My Hero Academia manga featuring a trans masc character that says "Formerly female. Then he took a trip to Thailand."

The second post is from me replying "Rare bad Jess take tbh. Am I any less trans for not being able to afford hrt? Am I bad representation because I'm poor?

That's another one of my partners favorites haha. It such a neat deck. It's definitely more rogue than anything tho. As a former ygo player myself, may I also recommend United Wings? That deck has been my favorite since release, and its pretty cheap to build as well.

Yeah, Regidrago's fun to play. My partner enjoys that deck a lot haha. Just make sure you're playing Dragapult, it is a huge game winner against a deck you've managed to out tempo.

Its playrate. A really strong deck that has stood on its own for a hot second now would be Lugia V Star. You can build that for around 60 bucks. A little cheaper and you can build something like Klawf. Both of these decks have solid options to use outside of PC so it doesn't feel you're downgrading.

Good news is that compared to yugioh, almost every deck in the Pokémon TCG is budget lmfao. But for a cheaper deck you are going to want to play something with an Ace Spec that isn't PC. I didn't mention it in the post because it wasn't the point, but PC is sitting around 20 bucks due to [1/2]

That's completely fair. All good counterpoint tbh. I agree that the balancing as a whole is really good (though some are lacking a bit), but I think the best way to resolve the issue is legit to make another Ace Spec that is just as generically gold as PC is.

Hot Take (?): Prime Catcher is a problem. Not in the sense that it's overpowered, but it is generically good in a way no other Ace Spec is; to the point that it makes deck building a bit boring?? Like, not that other Ace Specs see no play at all, but the play rates PC see makes the format stale.
