Is everyone's Discover feed unresponsive, or is it just mine? @bsky.app?

Well Bluesky isn't showing images in my feed this afternoon. Maybe later that feature will return.

Last week I had a conversation here on Bluesky about how a malignant narcissist behaves when they feel their power and control slipping, when they stop getting what they want. It ends with an extinction burst of rage, vengeance, and violence. Sound familiar? www.theguardian.com/news/ng-inte...

The weird heat in Pittsburgh yesterday helped me figure something out. I walk dogs, so I was outdoors at the hottest part of the day. Couldn’t believe how heavily I was sweating, given that the high temp was only 81* F. Well…the humidity was 75-80%. My sweat wasn’t evaporating, thus not cooling me.

A tree on our street snapped during the storm last night. Norway maple. I don’t know why people keep planting these in #Pittsburgh.

For anyone out there who’s into stationery, specifically Japanese planners, subspecies Hononichi: I’m happy to report that I have successfully purchased my 2027 book! I didn’t need to buy on the release date - nothing I wanted will sell out - it’s just fun. Little bit of excitement. 😊

Whenever someone (or some bot account) blocks me, I immediately block them back. (I get a notification when someone blocks me...I guess I opted into that at some point.) Anyway, I'm not sure if it does any good, but a bunch of those notifications now say [deleted account] where a username once was.

I’ll never understand why some people seem delighted to tell you how much your life is going to suck after you make a big change, such as having a kid, getting married, or buying a house. Like…OK, maybe? But why not let a person find out for themselves? Maybe it’ll be great for them.

A little bit of chop on Lake Erie up here in Lakeside. A storm is brewing and I couldn’t be happier. I love it when a Great Lake gets moody.

In the car today, I asked Siri to "play Pink Floyd on Tidal." I got a bunch of great songs, a few I hadn't heard in awhile, and a couple I'd never heard. Above all, I was reminded what a good lyricist Roger Waters is.

100% predictable outcome. I don't really like that saying, "science doesn't care what you believe," because of course it doesn't care. It's an empirical method. The flu virus doesn't care, either. It just scoots through the door anti-vaxxers leave wide open. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...

A few weeks ago I cancelled my YouTube subscription. It ran out a week or so ago and I don’t miss it. That seems weird because I watched it quite a bit. It just started to feel too expensive, both money- and time-wise. Well…onward, I guess.

Screenshot of a phone’s spam call log. There are nine calls logged, all from the same number, all with the same time stamp: 17:52. (The phone’s owner prefers 24-hour, rather than 12-hour timekeeping because it removes the am/pm ambiguity.)

In case you’ve ever wondered why the “parking chair” is a thing in Pittsburgh. (I think they do this elsewhere, too, but I never saw it until I moved here.)
