Last week, Frederico Água was given an academic distinction and we couldn't be prouder!👏 He completed his master thesis with us and will soon start his PhD with a grant from Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, focusing on the impact of cell origin and aberrant transcription in pancreatic cancer.

🧪 We are thrilled to share our latest work, now published in Biology of Sex Differences, by our amazing collaborators: Mafalda Soares, Inês Wemans, Paulo Caldas, Simao Rocha, Ana Rita Grosso. We show the impacts of cell type-specifc dysregulation on the X chromosome in SLE! 🔗 doi.org/10.1186/s132...

Big congratulations to Silvia Carvalho for successfully defending her PhD! 🎓 Her thesis focusing on SRRM2 is an exciting contribution to our understanding of gene regulation and early development. We'd like to thank @apombo1.bsky.social for her generous collaboration during this joint supervision.

🧪 Our latest work with Caldas and Rocha, published @stemcellreports.bsky.social shows that XCI erosion is common and heterogeneous, reactivating X-linked genes without affecting global methylation or imprinting. #xchromosome 🔗 doi.org/10.1016/j.st... @ucibio.bsky.social #fctnova #i4hb
