ARez @arezdev.de · 28/09/2026Very interesting. Is the wafer for the master key just like a cylinder that isnt attached (like welded) to the pin or spring on either end? 100

ARez @arezdev.de · 26/09/2026Ah thats fair! Good luck for both projects then! Dont burn yourself out 👍 110
ARez @arezdev.de · 26/09/2026Did I miss something? Is this the same project as your UFO sodescroller? Or a new one? This one looks very cool too 110
ARez @arezdev.de · 24/09/2026Its not bad, but also doesn't excite me a lot. Don't get me wrong, its better than what I would make but still. I think this scene just doesn't scream "Multimesh" to me. Could also just be particles or something 🤔 010
ARez @arezdev.de · 24/09/2026idk what specifically indicates that youre debugging but this for sure looks very cool 👍 110
ARez @arezdev.de · 23/09/2026Very cool. Also, what absolute madman tried to sail down that stream with a bazillion waterfalls and got stuck 😆 000
ARez @arezdev.de · 16/09/2026This is how the default mode should work (maybe as long as its possible to remove materials). I never liked the default wireframe mode 000
ARez @arezdev.de · 15/09/2026It looks beautiful but it took me wayyy too long to realize that the curve at the top is a waterfall and which part was the water. Maybe I am just a bit blind, but I think some kinda texture on the water (like waves) could help. 110
ARez @arezdev.de · 08/09/2026Signal is great though and is probably the best option if you care about privacy. The only thing Signal is lacking is that open community fostering. It feels more aimed towards preexisting groups from IRL or something. But overall, I can highly recommend it to chat to family and friends! 010
ARez @arezdev.de · 05/09/2026Looks good! What does "light approximation" mean and how does it work? 000
ARez @arezdev.de · 03/09/2026Interesting! So it sounds like it is fully CPU side? Maybe using SIMD or something? 100
ARez @arezdev.de · 03/09/2026Hi, I never used Pico. May I ask what userdata is? Is it inserted into an internal fragment shader? Or is it fully CPU side somehow? 100
ARez @arezdev.de · 29/08/2026Not sure if this is really non-euclidian geometry (as parallel edges of the cube are still parallel and the cube in general is a euclidian object), but this sort of stencil effect is definitely really cool 👍 010
ARez @arezdev.de · 28/08/2026Oh I never thought of just using voronoi cells for this! So simple but apparently very effective 😁 000
ARez @arezdev.de · 12/08/2026While this is cool, I wonder if this is actually needed and not just scope creep. But you do seem to make progress on the game towards a Steam release, so what do I know... You are the dev on this game, so just do whatever you think you need 👍 020
ARez @arezdev.de · 12/08/2026Yeah I personally would do the latter. But I guess just use whatever works for you 👍 000
ARez @arezdev.de · 04/08/2026Maybe you should add "Gnome Boxes" somewhere in the title here as well? Bluesky didn't seem to embed your article so I didnt know what you were talking about at first 010
ARez @arezdev.de · 04/08/2026Like in style. The actual shape is kinda similar, but yeah Im loving the style as well 020
ARez @arezdev.de · 29/07/2026You may have hidden your answer within a whole lot of fluff while accusing me of having some sort of hidden agenda yes 100
ARez @arezdev.de · 29/07/2026Instead of trying to find a conspiracy in my question, you could have just plainly said "The latter of your options". And that would've been it. But no, you want to argue on HOW I phrased the question and want to make a whole philosophical argument out of it 000
ARez @arezdev.de · 29/07/2026Well first of all, those are just the two options I could think of. Yes, I could have phrased them differently, but that shouldn't hinder you from answering my question. Second: You are a free thinking human being. You can answer whatever you want, regardless how you understand my question. 200
ARez @arezdev.de · 29/07/2026What are you yapping about 🤣 I didn't try to "pinhole" you or anything. I was merely trying to understand what you were saying. Lmao maybe don't try to see a conspiracy everywhere 😆 100
ARez @arezdev.de · 29/07/2026Wait, are you complaining that the overview doesn't show more (even though that information is available on another page) or are you saying you based your feedback on what Liam showed, so some of your feedback might not be valid given the further information I provided? 100
ARez @arezdev.de · 29/07/2026You can see how many % each app uses of: cpu, ram, swap, drive, gpu and gpu memory if you go to the "Apps" tab. So quite a bit more detail than Liam shows here. He just shows the first "performance" tab, which provides an overview. 100
ARez @arezdev.de · 28/07/2026Have you finally got one? I remember last time you said you weren't invited? Or was that something else 000
ARez @arezdev.de · 27/07/2026Godots build sizes have been steadily increasing but thats to be expected with more and more features I guess. Its now a 76MB ZIP download (4.7.1) and 138MB binary size unpacked 231
ARez @arezdev.de · 27/07/2026Yeah I second this. I would use GDScript for 99% of the tasks and once you run into performance issues, I would use GDExtension. For that, there is a nice wiki page explaining how to set it up. Basically you need the godot-cpp repo and scons. 050
Reposted by ARezBaptiste GENEST @baptiste-genest.bsky.social · 26/07/2026At the end of my internship at Adobe, we could not release code for numerous reasons. But I thought that the pseudo-code in the paper would be enough for anyone to re-implement it! I was wrong 🫠 @arezdev.de contacted me a week ago, asking why his implementation did not work... 181
ARez @arezdev.de · 25/07/2026Link to my source code: github.com/ARez2/Implic... This was a really interesting algorithm to implement. And does a good job at UVs! Thanks to Baptiste for helping me with some issues of my implementation ❤️ He also made a standalone C++ version (without Godot), based on my initial implementation. 010
ARez @arezdev.de · 25/07/2026My implementation of the paper "Implicit UVs: Real-time semi-global parameterization of implicit surfaces" from @baptiste-genest.bsky.social. The paper describes a way to texture SDFs in realtime by letting the user place seeds on the surface which get blended into a global UV space #godot #Graphics 1111
