Sorry to reshare this again but my mother underwent another surgery last week and then we learned that chemo had decimated her red blood cells so she's in hospital again. I'm extremely sick myself, so if you can chip in anything or share, it will help us both to stay alive. 😭🧿🫶 #mutualaid

First assignment for my creative writing students was to write “Why I Write,” modeled after @stephengrahamjones.com ‘s work of the same title, and today the students read their pieces aloud. They were beautiful testaments to imagination and the human spirit. Really wonderful—honest, raw, genuine.

Thank you to everyone who've shared and those who contributed to my brothers' gofundme. They've got a long road ahead and still need help, but I know it really means a lot to them that folks have pitched in so much already to help them out.

Look what came in the mail! I read one of @kuzhalimanickavel.bsky.social's short story collections last year (THINGS WE FOUND DURING THE AUTOPSY) and fell in love with her wry, witty blend of the surreal and the commonplace and I can't wait to dive into her first novel!

Ed Sheeran crying fake tears at his concert doesn't change his crap behavior. He chose money over humanity. Back in the 90s when Green Day was told by promoters they had to kick Pansy Division off the tour, Green Day told them to kick rocks and the promoters backed off. Ed could have done the same.🍵

Archita recently lost her father to cancer, & she's trying desperately to keep her mother alive as she in turn fights a rare & aggressive cancer. She's got no other support or insurance, & is a freelancer. The costs are prohibitive. She'd be most grateful for any help. Thank you for sharing/giving 🤍
