I’ve been reading Lonesome Dove and it keeps eating at me that I didn’t find this book when my dad was alive and speaking. I wish I could ask him if he had read it, it’s absolutely one that he would have enjoyed.

I feel a special camaraderie with the preschool parents that drop off late with me. It’s always like 4 of us zooming in, looking harassed and guilty for being a couple minutes late to drop off.

One deer hunting trip with my dad and brother, we came across fresh tracks and scratches in a tree. I remember feeling very unsettled until we decided that maybe we did not actually want to see a mountain lion that day 😅 there’s a good chance she saw us though.

Either Fred or the Goose keeps whistling while sleeping and it’s freaking me out. I’m in the living room and periodically i hear a short whistle. I don’t want to investigate because what if they’ve been eaten by a whistle demon and it’s a trap? The lights and the cats are out here where it’s safe.
