I think one of the interesting things here is that the article's later point - that the across-the-table nature of 40k keeps a lot of things in check - is not the case with videogames. And that's where a LOT of newer fans are coming from.

Well, the top bit of the hair doesn't look like it ENDS. It doesn't seem to stop at the crest. So....I dunno. I think if you had to design hair on a previously Minbari character, this is the laziest way to do it

Oh, to make it official: my 37th mini painted in 2026 was my Big Thawk.

A 3d printed recreation of a 1992 epic thunderhawk gunship mini but 5 times as big so it can be used in Warhammer 40,000.

It is painted yellow and with the livery of the Lamenters chapter.

I think it's mid-00s, as WH grew outside the UK. A lot of people got into it as kids, missed a lot of the satire/silliness/sense of humour, and just took the 'Imperial Propagada' at face value. And then, $$$ later, they realised and got angry. Moreso when GW spelled out their position post-2020.

Well that was weird. #eurovision this year was WAY darker than in previous years. Very eilish/Rosalia/Charlie xcx coded and once again,.almost zero influence from the roans and carpenters. The sheer amount of armour, fire, dark synths and goths, even in all the big 'pop songs' was crazy.

Ok got slightly distracted there but in no particular order. Sweden surprising us with one of the few massive dance tracks. Still a big battley one Warhammer 🔨 Italy bucking all the trends to do a DISCO number - no armour, no fire, no evil choir, it's like every other year. No warhams but good.

ALL these Eurovision songs are weird. Pop song, but with 10s of dance beat, but also 10s of epic classical and no discernable structure. Why do they all sound like this? Anyway, Australia is the same but bigger, with armour, fire, and giant swirling galactic stuff so three Warhammers 🔨🔨🔨
