honestly re: reverse engineering it just kinda blows to see your fun hobby get completely blown up by AI shit and people who love the slop machine because it's faster. AI art and shit at least *most* people correctly loathe + shun it, but too many people think that code isn't similarly creative.

with the sunsetting of decomp.dev, people really need to come to terms with just how much damage vibecoders have done to our community and OSS in general. encounter is a fellow dusklight dev and friend, and seeing people treat him as replaceable in the scene is upsetting.

AI bros are NOT beating the "lacking basic respect and common sense" allegations. We've already said we're doing Tooie, and we already did the first game. There is no reason to do a slopcomp other than wanting to be the first one to plant the flag at the expense of everyone else.

hi, just a reminder that I'm still looking for a job in the paris region or remote. i'm fluent in (typed) python and ocaml and adept of functional patterns (with a tint of pragmatism) and imperative shell, functional core in particular my skills shine in maintaining and cleaning up existing code

new error page deployed
tcrf ban page featuring a vaguely butthole-shaped claude logo with two hands on either side of it, saying "claude user detected".

claude users aren't welcome here. claude frequently circumvents blocks and other anti-ai measures.

plus, our community is built by humans, for humans.
asking some robotic butthole to digest the information here
does a disservice to everyone who has ever contributed.
you are banned from this site.

and mention reference code "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx".

warning: your chances of success are near zero.

I've been working on this for over a year: I'm remaking all of Ocarina of Time's prerenders in 3D, trying to match the N64 style rather than the 3DS one. The provisional name is OoT unJPEG. It will be distributed as both a romhack that runs on real N64 hardware and a mod for Zelda 64 Recompiled.

It's possible to crash both the Wii and Nintendo Switch releases of Super Mario Galaxy 2. By abusing the Infinite Flutter Jump glitch, it's possible to reach the Tall Trunk Galaxy slide with Yoshi. Attempting to enter the slide with Yoshi crashes the game.

TIL that what we called "lightnode SRM" in OoT ( docs.google.com/document/d/1... ) is an exact match of a classic libc exploit ( ir0nstone.gitbook.io/notes/binexp... )
