📣 The UUA has issued a powerful response to the recent anti-trans presidential proclamation. Trans people are sacred. Trans youth deserve safety, love, and affirmation—not hate. 💬 Read the full statement: www.uua.org/pressroom/pr... #UU #UnitarianUniversalist #Transrights #belovedcommunity
A square social media graphic with a cloudy blue sky background featuring the colors of the transgender pride flag (pink, white, and blue) faintly visible behind a translucent text box. At the top left is the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) chalice logo in black and white. The main text reads:

“The times are perilous, and the risks are only growing. And yet the moral imperative to embody our Unitarian Universalist values and protect our beloveds is clearer than ever.
Let us proclaim with unwavering clarity to our young people:
If life, and Love, and all that is holy made you transgender, that part of you is also part of the Divine. You were not made wrong -- you were made sacred, and through you we are all made more whole.”

The text is framed by a black border with stylized quotation marks in the top right and bottom left corners.

At the bottom of the graphic is the UUA website link: http://UUA.org , and a caption in smaller text reads:
“A ‘Fierce, Unshakable Love’: The Unitarian Universalist Association Responds to Harmful Anti-trans Presidential Proclamation.”

Stacy Bias

Check in on your queer friends with ADHD/AuDHD right now cuz their Justice Sensitivity combined with their Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria means that they are both acutely aware of how f*cked up things are *and* also feel personally responsible for fixing it *while* dealing with the helplessness inherent in the reality that individual action is not gonna do it this time. This means that their brains/bodies are going into overdrive and also that they are feeling guilty for any kind of self-care or joy in their lives because their brain weasels are telling them that resting or being happy while others cannot/are not is selfish. It's an exhausting state and we're not OK.

I'm operating on the assumption that the Internet Archive itself won't be available in the long term. It's too much a single point of failure — and thus an obvious target — for so much of our history. If there's anything there you consider precious or irreplaceable, download your own copy now.

On day one Trump's EO said we were harmful to kids. On day two, it said we were dishonorable and disloyal. On day three, it said we were unAmerican. Transgender people have been a part of this country for centuries. We are not going anywhere. Do not comply with these EOs, they are not law.

If you don't have many transgender people in your life, you might be aware generally of the anti-trans bigotry coming from the Trump administration, but not aware of the extreme details and the immediate danger. Good sources to follow include @erininthemorning.com and @assignedmedia.org. (1/3)

Do you know why a president would do all the most evil and heinous shit via Executive Order? Because his party can't easily make it law. And if they can't make it law, they can't make it last. Don't let anyone make you feel like this is The End. Do not let them demoralize you. Live to see them die.

I've been feeling this a lot lately as someone who helped build an early dialup ISP in the 90s. It seemed like connection across divides was going to lead to so much good change. The global village and all that. But now look at us. This was my "farewell" video on TikTok to that same effect.

Bluesky doesn't support audio files, and video files are limited to 60 seconds. Guess I'll just keep posting my music over on Mastodon. I love making music but rarely find time to turn little sketches into something finished. Here's last night's bit of synthiness anyway: tech.lgbt/@autumn/1137...

It's been a rough stretch and I'm trying not to be too hard on myself for struggling to keep up with everything. But the youngest kiddo and I just made the most charlie-browniest yule log out of extra campfire wood and a bunch of birthday candles... and that feels like so much more than enough. 🕯️

The Detroit Public Library is such an amazingly beautiful and reverent place. "Knowledge is Power", indeed. Michigan folks — if you already have a library card in your home city, show it at the DPL circulation desk and they'll give you a Detroit library card for free.

This has been a really difficult month for a number of reasons, and I'm finding that at least right now I'm having a hard time focusing while working alone at home. So today I rode my bike to the library and am working from one of the study rooms. Libraries coming in clutch once again... 💚

I would love to find a book that spells out a clear vision of what "what we were working towards" really means and imagines what our country could look like if those ideals were fully realized. Do any of you book lovers out there have a recommendation?

The bikeability of my city was one of the deciding factors when I bought my current home. I run errands by bike when I can, and have replaced nearly 1,000 miles of trips by car in the last two years. Here's a trip down the new bike lanes on Woodward Ave. during this year's Dream Cruise festival.

We are way more car-dependent than I'd like here in southeast Michigan. Until we pull off a breakthrough of a reliable bus and train network, though, I'm loving the utility of e-bikes. I'm using mine for trips and errands around the city when I can. Almost 1,000 miles on the odometer so far!
