I feel like this is a thing that happens when minorities/Outsiders™️ embrace their opposition to the expectations of normative culture but then just... live there. It becomes memes, and the memes become their own rigid stereotypes. this is not actual diversity, just more boxes

Ansel is an asshole! Never forget this!! He's callous, hurts people for money, and sometimes doesn't know how to shut the fuck up! He's also virulently anti-religion and Xtians make him aggro Ren just doesn't know how to take responsibility for her fuckups

What Joyce Carol Oates said about a swath of romance readers is true about a lot of speculative fiction and cape comics readers. A portion of those audiences show up for formula, do not want an authorial stamp, and would gladly consume AI content so long as it checked the right boxes.

Bluesoul Entertainment is proud to present Demonhand. A Manga-inspired Cyperpunk Epic set in Ancient Egypt. Jim Harbor, Jon Dysania and Lex Alemán work their magic to bring a lush world to life. Issue 1 out now! demonhand.the-comic.org

1. A high tech city built on a spiral mountain of machinery and junk. Floating drones, construction robots and trains pile on top of each other. At The mountain’s base, the metal is rusty and broken down. As you go up the mountain, the neighborhoods look nicer, ending in a pristine white tower at the peak. Caption reads "Makh City! Poorest in New Kemet!"

2. A line up of silhouettes of several powerful looking cyborgs. Some have multiple limbs, some have exotic weapons. There is one in the center with flowing hair and a fluttering overcoat. Caption reads "A land served, and dominated by, the Mecha-Medj."

Sho, a Black non-binary person sinks down into a Lake. They are surrounded by scrap, junk and old robots.

Sho in the air with their right hand replaced with DEMONHAND, a large red robotic arm with a glowing eye in its palm.

Commercial art is an inherently risky business - you can hedge your bets with "safe" and "trending", but that's only so you can take those creative big swings that may or may not be a hit. Tapas decided to oversaturate its own market with work little more than a string of tropes, made by sweatshop
