Steam Frame UX: If the haptics in certain games seem excessively high, including Beat Saber, they probably are too high (bug). You should turn them down or off, else you risk damaging the controller. I think Valve is already looking into this.

Being a 3rd party Wii dev in 2006 must have been something; all day having mind-blowing inspirational thoughts such as 'wow we could use the wiimote to do this, that, or THIS!!!' And it's spinning pizza dough by swinging the wiimote like a lasso or something.

Mike McFarland has passed away at the age of 56 on September 10, 2026 due to his battle with Glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. He was a talented voice actor across anime, animated films and gaming. He was most known for Master Roshi, Buggy the Clown, Paul Phoenix, and Charlie Nash.

If somebody automated Tetris, I would say 'interesting'. Draft tetromios to be pulled from a bag or swap the order on a conveyor belt. That's moving the design space to 'play as a tetris assistant'. True automated Tetris that plays itself, like dynamic wallpaper or arcade cabinet attract mode.

I feel like sometimes in small team games & solo dev, no one is ever 'ahead of production' anymore so that they can start adding: Non-setpiece world building, side content, easter eggs, unique interactions, excessive polish. All of which I think positively contribute to 'immersion' in games.

Game dev question: What's it called when you verify stability by running a game for ~10 hours straight without crashing. Like an endurance test I forget if this has a name. And it's automated. Sometimes a controller can give random virtual inputs.

Does anyone find it unintuitive that people *say* "make your game embedded next play" when what they really mean is "uncheck the sibling setting below it 'Make Game Workspace Floating on Next Play'". Both are on and the latter overrides the first. Godot is consistent here. Its ppl who are wrong.
