Large numbers at Lavernock Pt on 3 Oct. Regular sightings over 4hrs. 1s, 2s and 3s but also flocks of up to 12. Difficult to get an accurate count because they were flying in all directions, so risk of double counting. Conservative estimate of 50 birds, but there may have been 80-100 birds there.

Petition: Stop all developments on peatlands across Wales!
Peatlands in Wales provide important carbon storage, they store 30% of our land-based carbon. They are essential for our survival: healthy peatlands sequester more carbon than all the world's forests combined. They also provide crucial habitat for plants, animals, birds and insects, and help prevent flooding in the face of increasingly erratic weather. Peatland cannot be moved or recreated; once fragmented or destroyed it's lost.
