in my experience, pre-packaged apples (those you buy already packaged at the store rather than having to put in bags in the store yourself) are better quality if they were packaged in plastic bags compared to in cardboard boxes.

I can't think of any false friends between Dutch and French or English and French, because in those langages if a word sounds similar to French, very big chance it's a direct loan. Maybe this is why I've always found it easier to learn French than German....

sometimes French villages will have traffic lights when you enter that serve no purpose for traffic management at an intersection or crossing, they just exist to slow you down. If you go the speed limit (generally 50km/h), you get a green light and don't need to stop, if you don't it'll take a bit

I don't know why but I have a very strong aversion to taking long distance bus journeys with transfers I have no issue taking train journeys with transfers, or long distance buses transferring to a train, but bus to bus transfer, unless it is a local bus, no thanks.
