Nebraska state law usually mandates informing law enforcement that one is in possession of a concealed firearm. These people followed the law and were abused for it, probably because the cops are ignorant bigots and don't even know the law themselves.

Nebraska Revised Statute 28-1202.04:
(2) Except as provided in subsection (5) of this section, whenever a person who is carrying a concealed handgun is contacted by a peace officer or by emergency services personnel, the person shall immediately inform the peace officer or emergency services personnel that the person is carrying a concealed handgun.

(5) A person is not required to comply with subsections (2) and (3) of this section if:

(a) Such person is storing or transporting a handgun in a motor vehicle for any lawful purpose or transporting a handgun directly to or from a motor vehicle to or from any place where such handgun may be lawfully possessed or carried by such person; and

(b) Such handgun is unloaded, kept separate from ammunition, and enclosed in a case.

I realized I'm trans when I was still 12 years old in 2005. Various bad actors and a total lack of support prevented me from living for myself until I was 28, when I began transitioning in November 2019. I refuse to hide or sit idly on this Trans Day of Visibility. Our lives are worth fighting for.

I photographed the #TeslaTakedown protest in Council Bluffs, Iowa yesterday. Protestors were peaceful and police seemed to only give a warning about parking. Two passing drivers Nazi saluted and many others raised the middle finger, but most who drove by honked, waved, and cheered in support.
