What's new: ➡️Combine several runs into one result, weighting how much each counts. ➡️Add resistance modifier layers, like elevation, so steep slopes are harder to cross than flat ground with the same land cover. ➡️Rescale resistance values with configurable caps

When a model informs a land-use decision or species management plan, the people affected deserve to know how it works. So do the agencies. So do peer reviewers. Open code lets collaborators catch errors, clients verify assumptions, and future researchers build on the methods.

It also puts a friendly interface on top of real code, so collaborators can explore assumptions and results without opening a script, while the model itself still runs in R, Python, or C#. And it scales: the same SyncroSim library runs on a laptop or headless on Linux, Docker, or a cloud cluster.

In SyncroSim, every model's inputs, outputs, and run settings live in a single versioned library, so results stay traceable years later instead of scattered across scripts and folders. Comparing scenarios is also made simple: tracked side by side, not duplicated in code.

Why do we build ecological models in #SyncroSim instead of just writing scripts in R or Python? Short answer: we still write the models in R and Python. SyncroSim isn't a replacement for either language, it's the framework that makes them usable by more than the person who wrote the code.

Our hazard maps are built on BurnP3+, the peer-reviewed wildfire simulation tool from the Canadian Forest Service. They deliver annually updated wildfire probability and intensity at a 30-metre resolution, allowing risk assessments at the scale of individual buildings and infrastructure corridors.
