Howard V. Brown did a lot of great 1930s pulp sci-fi magazine covers. Nevertheless, his June 1924 cover to "Scientific American" might be my favorite work of his, despite not actually being science fiction. I love the nonchalant surrealism.

a thing that the Madoka show vs the movies does better is making a bigger emphasis on adult women. Madoka is partially about magical girls going through apocalyptic teenagehood and the adult women show the alternative of getting to grow up despite everything. idk i'm bad with words.
