So many Bluesky posts now are written in code or are like something in a metaphysical or Prynne poem that I think there should be an ALT text equivalent to explain them to the likes of me (or to me).

"Higher that thing up," I said. "Why? It's in French." What answer was there to that? Nor, indeed, could I make head or tail of it even with the subtitles.

I didn't see this advertised: Manchán Magan and the Music of Other Worlds. He was, in a very real sense, a saoi who brought the Irish language to life in an approachable yet authoritative way.

Back in Twitter when “My library photo has had 1.1 million views, 23,820 likes, & 1,000s etc. Strikingly, the 890 comments in different languages are all complimentary, often gently envious, and essentially, without exception, kind. The book-loving corner of Twitter, it seems, is a nice place. 🥰”

Who wouldn't like to live in such a place? Housing on the edge of Airfield Estate. Overlooked in a good sense. And with a tram nearby going in to town. (The line that long ago took Foxrock freemasons to their meetings in Molesworth Street, according to Todd Andrews.)

I wondered if it might be a species rose from China, but I'd say the one on the right is Rosa glauca. Glaucous is one of those words only gardeners and poets use. I suppose Pallas Athene's flashing eyes were that. And ornithologists.

A marvellous colour-restrained border at Airfield Estate. Niwaki cloud pruned small trees, echium p. and what you might call the lesser Nile papyrus reed in flower. It's far too little grown here. I still have one 35 years after being given it by someone I was soft on who married someone else.
