I hope we keep writing docs for people who want to understand and build things without using AI.

I’ll have to prepare the arrival of my "new" Mac and never repeat the same mistakes again, effectively building a disposable dev environment I don’t know yet which shape it will take but I have to think about it

The part I’m the saddest about losing is the roadmap/todo list of my projects, especially the one of SC I offload my ideas into a local-only TODO.md, and this one had like 50 lines of detailed ideas I don’t think I’ll be able to remember all it contained and I’m super sad about this

So far I’ve never got any issues with the Apple support, hope it’ll stay like this 😅

Oh and I have to wait for at least a week before I can get it back Which means 3 weeks without coding + start from scratch

Update: out of my appointment at the Apple Store Pro: AppleCare+ prevented me from paying ~800€ for motherboard change Con: all my data is gone, most importantly my todo list for all my projects, some private secrets related to repo management

What do you mean by "didn’t deliver on the point of a Rust rewrite"?

Human localization is more important than ever And I don’t see it being replaceable by automated tools anytime soon

I’d love to! Though I’m still without computer rn for at best half a week, and I still have my reliability cleanup and async/remote function migration on the way, I lack time 😅

I’m very open to atproto integrations in Svelte Changelog, having the ability to kind of create a Bluesky post from a release, or even having a bot account posting every release could definitely be good ideas!!

Those settings only are plugin recommendations for people not already having the extension You can remove them if they feel cluttery but it’s totally harmless to commit :)

It doesn’t It was in sleep since Friday ~5PM, I just tried now to open it up And yes definitely not battery cause no USB-C cable does anything to it, not even the shim, and most importantly the MagSafe cable doesn’t recognize it at all, as if it wasn’t plugged

👀 A new official adapter option is coming in SvelteKit 3! The Bun adapter takes advantage of Bun-specific API:s like Bun.serve(), Bun.file() and Bun.env for the best possible performance! Try it on Kit 3.0 pre-release with npx sv@next create #svelte #bun

A is more versatile without sacrificing DX, easy pick imo But if you can, both are good!

This is the demo - an adaption of next-books, built in SvelteKit 3 and Svelte 5. Preloading on hover makes this super fast, and repeated visits are even faster thanks to Vercel's runtime cache where I store the response data of search results or book details (deliberately not using cache headers)

Why is it always "switching to this new CSS framework saves you 20kb of CSS" and never "switching away from React saves you 200kb of JavaScript"?

For the first part I’d guess it’s based on trends and habits But people leaning on the phrasing of your last sentence are definitely concerning

I’m not saying *your* own projects are like this, I’m talking about a general tendency I’ve seen AI users themselves notice It’s surely possible to drive them correctly, but it’s extra work and care not many people are willing to put into their projects once AI already does 99% of the job

Antoine @antleth.fr · 08/09/2026
Trying to be open about it (because you’re right about the absolutism part) The issue is that AI usage is almost *never* reasonable: it’s either fully AI or not at all And even if the code is okay, more meta issues like long-term maintenance and vision is very hard with AI-led projects

Trying to figure out the financial details so I’m able to make it in person Then if it’s not too late I’d even be tempted to submit a talk about async + remote functions migration for Svelte Changelog 👀

I’ll go even further: open-source can actually save your professional career Not only it gives you a unique experience, but it also allows you to: protect your work-life balance boundaries, help you pick new jobs, not get stuck in a long term bad language cycle… and so much more really How cool!

That’s one of the exact reason they also moved away from it: $ = their code, # = your code (Can’t remember where I saw that)

You can now write mobile apps with Svelte as the UI layer while leveraging the React Native infrastructure!! github.com/OneEyed1366/... This package is already published to npm! It's using a build of an unmerged PR for custom renderers by @paolo.ricciuti.me, but give it a try today!
