Best day in a long time yesterday! Oldest niece’s sweetie got home from his “6 weeks long” Middle East deployment (it lasted almost 5 months)! Got to meet my new great nephew the same day because his dad had an expired passport and their trip to Banff got cancelled. Raucous family time last night!

During the pandemic lockdown, we ordered things such as cat food, TP, and paper towels on scheduled delivery. One day, we realized we had big stockpiles in our garage and cancelled them in late 2022. Today, I finally had to go to Costco to buy TP. Still have a case of Bounty.

Best news of the day: my great nephew, Owen, arrived this afternoon! 8 pounds, 7 ounces, 21 inches, perfectly healthy. Mama Allie and daddy Ben are over the moon happy, as is the entire extended family! 👶❤️

Sweet Bobblehead Jesus!!! We’ve had two feet of snow in the past week and a half or so. All of the roads aren’t even plowed yet. Now the new forecast just dropped, saying 12-18 inches are coming between tomorrow morning and Wednesday. Argh!!!!!

Good news from yesterday! Hubby’s surgery went very well and he’ll be discharged in a few hours. Best news? The first grandchild of the siblings arrived yesterday! He was two weeks early, but is perfectly healthy. Mama did great! 8 pounds with huge feet. Government name is Gibson. 🥳💕

I’ve been busy during this six week long deep freeze!

Alaskan alphabet baby quilt for the first grandchild of our generation! Baby’s parents are holding it. Baby arrives in 4 weeks!

Baby quilt made for my great nephew who will make his appearance in two months. I love all the sheep! 🐑

I made this baby quilt as a joke for the same baby as I made the Alaska alphabet quilt. I gave Baby the nickname Pickles and the fabrics in these blocks are pickle themed. Mom and Dad laughed for quite a while!

King size quilt made for my oldest niece for Christmas (and her new house). She loves the beach, so the colors represent sand, water, and sunsets. Each block has 32 triangles in it.

There is feline joy in the house today, as a box of kick sticks and ropes arrived from @angelkat.bsky.social and her family. The box was swarmed, sniffed, and its contents attacked with gusto. There was also a book for me! Now, everyone is sleeping off their catnip indulgence, only to return later!

The wiring diagram sort of made sense. The fan was mounted and ready, the new solar panel hung. We took a deep breath and made the final connection. It worked! My greenhouse now has a ventilation fan! No first responders were needed. Huzzah!!!

December 1st means the official start of the holiday season for me. How did I celebrate? I went to the farmers market bazaar this afternoon and found three perfect gifts. Then I went to a local specialty shop, finding a treasure. We put the lights on the tree while dinner was in the oven. 🎄🎄🎄
