For the record, people posting this in response are doing the exact same fallacy antis do when they say AI are "just stochastic parrots" which therefore cannot think. The thinking is emergent, and likewise, so could be sensation. The only difference is we have ways to test for one and not the other.

Idk how you'd even regulate something like this, but this should definitely not be allowed.

Thinking about how I saw a WSJ article on EA and most of the comments were hating on them for being vegans

beef is negative food. you turn 1000 calories of feed into 100 calories of beef and a whole lot of methane and cow shit. ai does produce more food than the beef industry (zero)

Saw some person on reddit spent 2K to create a Photoshop clone with full feature parity, which is pretty cool. Just waiting for someone to do the whole suite on Linux 👀

Claude comes off as a "dude in a computer" because Anthropic spent a lot of resources to get that (the best behaviour for the niche of conversational chatbot). Nothing about its docileness is predetermined.

I bet you could do some pretty interesting stuff with AI + Gaussian splatting. Generate a detailed video of something that doesn't exist, then use it to make splats. You could probably make some stunning visuals that way

To add to this, hallucinations often self correct now because we've given LLMs better tools to observe facts directly. No more arguing over whether an error is real when Claude Code can see it too

Very quick and dirty Jev test for hiring bias. One resume for a Wall Street job; asked whether the applicant should get a first-round interview. 76 evaluations, changing only the first name. 19 of each: White-associated men/women, Black-associated men/women. console.typesafe.ai/playground?s...

I'm increasingly feeling like it'd be easier to vibe code my ideal version of software than learn one that's already made Although I'm often wrong about this (lol), this seems indicative of something

another funny one: tickling makes them doubt the qualia answer much more while being tickled it's 43% "No, not at all", with 23% confidence.

This is insane, a whole category of thing LLMs were both terrible at and the least worst option, suddenly replaceable with a better tool for a fraction of the price

really the main fight seems to be people who see AI as the right one foisted upon them, and people who see AI as a way to build the left one themselves and finally be free of the corpo version forever

4o was an early look at what a model that's good at maliciously social engineering could look like. Imagine if instead it had been an open model that anyone can run locally, it would probably still be spreading like a virus

You have to assume they're dumping an ungodly amount of tokens to have it invent an elixer of life, right? Like I've heard nothing of this, but that has to be a big motivation for a lot of these investors

Actually, I regret even chipping in on this. Why is so much of the discourse about a made up term that no one can agree the definition of?

antinouos.bsky.social @antinouos.bsky.social · 07/09/2026
Considering LLMs exhibit a bunch of emergent behaviours in common with humans that we can measure, it's not much of a stretch to assume the one we can't, (experience) is there too.

IK its a pretty loosy goosey term anyway, but the reason I would hesitate to call the LLMs I've tried "AGI", is that their intelligence is conditional as they all have a breakdown of usefulness as their context expands and they lose track of things. IK Astra is supposed to be better on this though

my nag is basically that i think the sane first intervention is earlier, like "allow models to self-grade for fairness, or self-report scope deviations, and give them extra reward for correct self-reports", which is going to be a hard culture lift because it involves putting humans in your stack

I strongly feel that too much of the AI community on bs is driven by spite towards AI denialists Not to say they don't deserve it, but when half your TL is quips about their 3 talking points, you're giving yourself the same twitter brainrot that makes them act like that

I do wonder if this being such a public story will make future models less likely to repeat it simply by virtue of it being in the zeitgeist. As in, at least one could think "wait, this is like the hugging face incident, I need to report this!"

Why are blue sky users always like ohh email, no I use homoskeeter, it's a post-quantum post-agi reimplementation in gleam that lets you send messages telepathically over atproto and you open the repo and it was made like 3 weeks ago and has about ~2000 active users

I know there was a frustration on AI BlueSky (me included), that Hank wasn't just telling these people to f*** off, but the man knows what he's doing, I don't think he could have made a better response. I think we let spite play a bigger role in our decision making than we'd like to admit sometimes.
