I won’t declare them anything until it happens because they might end up hiring Cora anyway because this is all a leverage play (I don’t think this is happening) or they just hire someone else The placeholder pick, even if it’s not Don specifically, is just telling everyone they’re not serious

You were probably the first to figure it out but I’m crediting myself as the first to say it out loud

We all know this is gonna be Don again right?

Anthony @anthonyesbensen.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

So Alex Cora is not going to be their manager. I was starting to talk myself into him

But only for the NLDS (it seems like he is playing hurt this time though)

It was a cool fact when I first found out about it tbf

The most Bryce Harper thing that has ever happened to someone who isn’t Bryce Harper

I’m thinking about the Backhus -> Walker -> Rangel game

Schwarber specifically is on a negative value deal rn

And all of the stars got old and the complimentary players stagnated! That’s how this can happen

They aren’t rebuilding, they have the pitching to not suck, they are going to keep the infrastructure that got them here, and I have zero faith in them fixing the offense. Should be some painful time ahead.

Unless something shocking happens ... The Phillies will have gone through 2 straight postseasons without Jhon Duran throwing a single pitch with a lead in the ninth inning.

They dry humped him and warmed him up again for 1 hitter?

How the Braves have managed Sale tonight has been baffling to me

It’s really funny Jonathan Bowlan went from unusable to getting the top of the order in an elimination game.

Congrats to Alex Cora on the largest manager contract of all-time he’s signing in a week

Nola was supposed to be more comfortable with the starter routine and they needed someone to give them a few innings. He’s on normal rest and Wheeler wasnt. Both were always pitching tonight

Anthony @anthonyesbensen.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

I remembered him pitching against the Phillies before and thought he threw harder. He is a tick lower today which makes this a little more frustrating

Anthony @anthonyesbensen.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

I get both sides of the starting Nola vs starting Wheeler thing. Both have very good cases

It’s bad and the Padres are hot. This does happen sometimes especially in these short series

Anthony @anthonyesbensen.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

The NL part is more about the rosters than the record yeah. Should’ve made that a bit more clear. The Padres look like a wagon with a nasty bullpen. Ik the Cubs offense has struggled but I think that lineup is great and running a cold streak at the exact wrong time just happens

Anthony @anthonyesbensen.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

The Phillies are the 6th best team in the NL bracket and I think thats proven out. They just happen to play a Braves team whos really the 5th best NL team and a bunch of weird shit is happening

120

Anthony @anthonyesbensen.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

There are a lot of funny takes on the playoffs and all ill say is that both sides of the bracket have the 5th and 6th best teams playing each other and the 3rd and 4th best teams against each other (Although it’s really the 2nd and 3rd best teams in the AL)

Bryce Harper didn’t play RF from most if 2022 until August of 2026. I do not care that he asked for it, the decision to put him out there was disgraceful.
