In Nuxt DevTools v4.0.0-beta.2, it ships with Vue DevTools v9. You will have full-featured Nuxt/Vue/Vite DevTools together, as in the video!

And it just works™ on Nuxt! 💚 I am so happy to finally see that Nuxt/Vue/Vite DevTools are now fully orthogonal while united! So we no longer need to rebundle Vue/Vite-specific features into Nuxt DevTools, and users can get the full experience of each level's integrations.

that's true, but not the whole case. think TypeScript, where we have auto type inference: as a human, we almost always prefer writing () => `foo` instead of (): string => `foo` this is implicitness and also multiple ways of doing the same thing, humans have a clear preference but not agents

Anthony Fu @antfu.me · 14/09/2026
"built for agents" does not mean providing MCPs or skills, but rather having the tools designed with the mind of what agents would need; for example, a very constrained path to do things in one single correct way, being explicit, making pitfalls impossible to express or to pass compilation, etc.
2250
Anthony Fu @antfu.me · 14/09/2026
we look for syntax sugar, helpers, libraries, which are not necessary to apply to agents. Being implicit or having too many choices to do something, in contrast, confuses agents and results in a bloated maintenance surface

Anthony Fu @antfu.me · 14/09/2026
while in a way people expect that "models get better over time, so we don't need to do anything specific for agents, they can read the docs, click buttons etc. like a human", as a tool maker, I see the difference between those target audiences is that humans have laziness and inertia -

What I found is that asking agents to always write a story for all component that already does a pretty good job of ensuring the component is pure/controlled (otherwise you will get a lot of mocks). It's also good for easily viewing and tweaking each component by hand.

@storybook.js.org has been a great companion for working with agents, reviewing the UI components agents made, and making sure components stay pure and stateless. (I have to admit that, as a human, I was too lazy to write stories, but with agents it actually creates a pretty good feedback loop)

Hello friends and welcome to another “how’s ESM vs CJS doing?!” A big win this time, at a year of `require(esm)` available! 38.0% of the popular npm packages now have ESM, up from 33.4% half a year ago. ESM-only is up from 12.6% to 16.0%. Particularly this non-dual, “vanilla” growth is very big!

Same for me, still am. That was one of the reasons I refused to use agents at beginning for a long while. In the end I decided to adopt by learning the new skills and see where it leads to.

I would quote this meme. And I think you should always keep an eye on the result, as it can build something like "runs like a car" but nothing like a car.

It's not about efficiency. To me it's more like a different layer of abstraction. We can build apps without frameworks, but using frameworks lets us focus more on high-level logic and build more complex apps. Same for Assembly to High-level languages, Pixel rendering to DOM & CSS, etc.

The main benefit is that I can see ideas from my wishlist/backlog become functional in a short time, almost effortlessly, which motivates me to polish further The emotional reward is very different from building something by hand from scratch, I do sometimes miss that sense of accomplishment indeed

Anthony Fu @antfu.me · 26/06/2026
I think it's just a very different way of coding, and we're still figuring out a good balance and the right expectations. Agents are good at producing functional but very verbose/unthoughful code, which would take time to clean up. "worse" in a sense if you expect it to be perfect at one go.

My experience with agents is that it doesn't make my work "faster". In the end it costs roughly the same amount of time, if not longer But my role has shifted from "builder" to "sculptor", which is a completely different job. I hated it at the very beginning tbh, but I'm getting better at it slowly

That said, there’s still some friction for people to start benefiting from agents, and the cost can be a barrier. If you’re actively contributing to OSS and want to use agents to help with your work, DM me with your contributions or plans. I’d be happy to sponsor your agent bills for a few months.

npm increasingly feels like a zombie org under GitHub. As someone who's been around the JS ecosystem and part of multiple OSS orgs for years, what I'm seeing isn't just "big co moves slow." It's quiet neglect of critical infrastructure the entire JS world runs on. A short thread 🧵
