Not much to share for this week's #ShowMeYourKnits #socktober theme as I'm not a real sock knitter. I did however make myself these bed socks from leftover yarn. I made up the pattern.

Very very rarely and usually it's a coincidence 😊 or the yarn came first and then I looked for a pattern that is made for it.

When you find a good staple pattern it's so easy to make it look different with yarn choices and adding textures etc.

That's good to know. A friend recommended this shawl pattern and I was wondering if I could find an economical Aran yarn to knit it.

I've had that pattern for a while but never worked up the courage to tackle it. Love the look but I don't really enjoy colour work.

I've been using a cable spiral lately (great for cables at the front, not so good at the back) but when I do use a cable needle I tuck it in my wedding ring, a trick my aunt taught me many years ago.

I usually do a blanket in honeycomb stitch. Though three at a time might be a bit much. Cardigans in 2nd size always seem popular depending on the season baby's due. For a winter baby a pram suit might be good.

I really don't want to turn my lovely hobby into a job, but recently have found I like knitting with relatively expensive wool so might try selling odd items that I make for pleasure, just to get cash to buy more wool 😉

Hope you like them. I love Knitpro Zing and don't use anything else. For the interchangeable ones I did find I needed rubber grippers such as the Chiagoo ones to keep them tight.

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful
