This goes for authors as well. If you're reading a book and it includes things like em-dashes or the rule of three, consider that the author's work was stolen to train AI...and/or they learned to write when punctuation and literary devices were considered good things!

Since I'm usually a longfic writer, it was very chill to write something every day without having to connect any of it to what I wrote yesterday if I didn't feel like it. The less exciting but necessary connective tissue is often the most challenging part of writing longer works.

Wow. LOISH got accused of using Ai to make her art. I started following her on early deviantart. I remember first seeing her paintings in college. This is ridiculous, no one is safe. Artists Ive followed for actual decades are getting harassed because their work has been stolen and regurgitated.

For that reason, it's important your mod team not only has a clear understanding of the rules and can enforce them consistently, but also has an eye for the type of content that is likely to be reported maliciously, and has a process for dealing with malicious reports.

Moderation at scale, at least right now, has certain problems we don't yet have perfect solutions for. Automated content moderation is still pretty bad and prone to false positives, as any tumblr user can tell you. User reporting can and often is abused.

Why do the guidelines of an RP plugin have anything to do with being "safe for work"? You can't safely play an MMO at the office regardless of its rating. If what you mean is that you don't allow explicit sexual content then just say that. At which point, again, it's obvious the pic wasn't that.

I'm not an XIV RPer so I have no dog in this race but seeing people argue about whether a thigh slit and/or cleavage in a character photo is "NSFW" feels ridiculous when the actual relevant question is whether it's more revealing than vanilla glams. (No. Obviously.)
