My life is such a jumble of necessary tasks and responsibilities, missed windows and opportunities, stretches of waiting that do not feel like free, unfettered time. Just not really sure how to wrangle them all into a recognizable, meaningful shape.

It's not easy to be old. I'm not quite there yet but have aged, not aging, parents... they who have picked me up so many times i can't count. Now they struggle with technology and paperwork and things I struggle with too but can sometimes help with. They are still strong, kind, wise and generous.

I hope the price of survival isn't that most of us perish before we see the light of day, in order for the for remainder to see that light-- but it's looking like rock bottom is where humanity likes to go first to contemplate its existence. Just stop it.

It's a wild world where "walk- in clinic" means you need to get in line on the sidewalk for an hour and a half to get a spot to see a doc. On my best day I couldn't stand for more than about 15 minutes. The ER is likely full of people like me. I'm not an emergency. Walk in? Nope. Stand and suffer.

My covid rapid tests expire today. I tested megatjve today and two days ago.. hoping the tests are accurate. They are certainly accurate gauges of my current mood, since I've been uncomfortably sick since sunday. Negative..yup.

I once told my favourite high school teacher long after graduating that I hated school. I think she was hurt and taken aback, but it was true. No one stopped me from hating myself or falling apart there. I learned a few things but not how to live life, be healthy, or care for myself. Fail.

Tonight there was so much going on in Halifax! I was at the Found in Translation art something at the Mayworks Festival at BusStop Theatre and it was hugely fun and beautiful too... but mostly mesmerizingly entertaining. 1/2

I admit to having an aversion to seeing certain words in poems these days. Like the word "whisper". Maybe in combination with certain other words it feels ok. Like "whispering stone" or "green whisper" or something. But the word itself sets off bells of... dislike. Which is too bad. For me. 🤔
