Killings involving knives or sharp implements dropped by 23% year on year, ONS figures show The total number of homicides in England and Wales has fallen to its lowest level since records began after a dramatic drop in killings involving a knife or sharp implement. Figures released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show 499 homicides were recorded by police in the 12 months to September 2025, a drop of 7% year on year from 539. Girls' use of parks drops after the age of 11. At a time when they should be gaining independence, many girls start to avoid parks. Why? They feel that parks aren’t for them - there is nothing to do. Also, many state they don’t feel safe.

I highly recommend this training for anyone interested in making their local parks and green spaces safer for women and girls! The training is fabulous and evidence-backed! We found it reduced barriers to intervention and improved confidence in specific intervention skills.
