This past week was the 50th Ottawa International Animation Festival and I was in charge of designing merch and running the silent auction (while juggling many other tasks). My first time making an enamel pin and I'm super happy with the result! Genuinely the best job I've ever had.

I don't normally share photos of myself but roller derby shots always look like something out of a renaissance painting and amuse me greatly. This is from The Fresh and the Furious 2026 tournament in Toronto (which is how I caught the flu 😷).

Action photo of a roller derby game, featuring several players on the track. The jammer (wearing helmet with star on it) is at the front passing the other team, with a blocker falling to their knees (it's me. The blocker is me).

One of the earliest inspirations for me was Tenchi Muyo! especially the manga drawn by Hitoshi Okuda. The eyes in particular, I drew A LOT in that style when I was younger and I think it still kinda comes through a smidge in my current art.

Ooooo this is fun. I'll give a hint: It WASN'T Darkwing Duck.

Drawing of Negaduck punching a mirror. The shattered pieces reflect back bits of him and Darkwing.

Drawing of Negaduk dressed up as Wario, and Malicia dressed up as Bowsette, on a mountain of candy corn. Darkwing is wrapped in toilet paper upside down and Negs is about to strike him with a giant mallet.

Drawing of Morrigan stomping Darkwing. The youth are doing okay I guess.

OC-led projects are, imo, the best way to go because it gives people full creative control of the world, the characters, and the story. Imagine it everyone stopped wasting their time hate-watching and channeled that energy into creating the stories they want to see...

#AnjFolio Creating inbetweens for props is something riggers do occasionally too. I spent a bit of time looking at slow-motion videos of blossoming flowers to design these inbetweens! (note: I did not animate the shot, that is done by the amazing animators).

I finally sat down and made a new 2D Rigging demo reel for my work on Cyberchase Season 15 #Anjfolio One thing I didn't expect when I started rigging was drawing extra views based on the animatic. With props especially, characters rotate/interact with them and the number of views will vary....

My fave was when they intentionally misquoted a Seth Rogen interview where he was very clearly talking about The Boys and reported it as being about Darkwing. When I called them on it in the comments they just ignored me.

If there is only one piece of wisdom I can impart to artists it's this: DO NOT EVER POST HIGH-RES ART OF CANON CHARACTERS WITH TRANSPARENT BACKGROUNDS. Learn from me, who has to forever see my stolen fanart being sold and re-sold on Ebay in the form of "Fantasy Pins".

A listing for a "Disney Fantasy Pin" of Darkwing Duck on a 1 dollar bill that is actually stolen fanart drawn by @anjallison.

Negaduck's expectations for them are already so low and yet they still manage to disappoint him every single time. #darkwingduck #art #myart #FearsomeFive #negaduck #bushroot #quackerjack #liquidator #megavolt

3 panel vertical comic.

First 1: Negaduck stroking his chainsaw lovingly and saying "Betsy, Baby. You Always look damn fine after a olishing. But you're even hotter covered in entrails." In the background Megavolt interjects with, "Uhh... You are aware 'Betsy' isn't alive, right?"

Panel 2: Negaduck hugs his chainsaw protectively. "OK First off keep her name out of your ugly face-hole. And secondly I saw you making out with the toaster last week. You do not get to judge me!"

Panel 3: Megavolt proclaims proudly, "I will have you know that toaster has a name! Jenny and I have agreed to see other electronics!" Liquidator stands next to him disgusted and says "I eat bread from that toaster!". Bushroot next to Liquidator is shocked and says, "You can eat?!". Quackerjack just vibes on the floor like a silly lil guy. Negaduck stares in dismay and questions the choices that led him up to this point.
