🚨 WE NEED YOU 🚨 As a new Prime Minister comes into power, we want to show that an overwhelming number of people support trans people, and want the government to take serious action to protect their rights. Will you say you stand with trans people? And share with everyone you know?

If you don't have proper eclipse glasses / filters, try a pinhole camera ... When the sun is whole, images will be circles. When partially eclipsed they will be crescents. You can use a colander or even a Ritz Biscuit. Find out more in my book "Up - a scientist's guide to the magic above us"
Ritz biscuit held above a red book. Crescents can be seen in the shadow as the holes work as a pinhole camera.

On the 5th August, the EHRC's Code of Practice becomes statutory guidance. It will make life even harder for many trans & non-binary people. It's unworkable & harmful. The Good Law Project is challenging & wants to hear from people affected by these exclusions. goodlawproject.org/discriminato...

With apologies to the Sec Pistols ....
A bright pink poster with a purple and black rendition of foraminifera Globigerinoidesella fistulosa, which has a spiral, perforate test with many accessory apertures and a final chamber with finger-like protuberances. Text in ransom-note style cut out letters, mostly in cyan, black, white and blue, reads "Never mind the benthics, here's Globigerinoidesella fistulosa"

The mathematics gender gap has incredibly damaging consequences down the line for women’s rights re financial literacy and independence. For example, you’re more likely to give control of your finances to someone else if you genuinely believe you can’t and never will understand compound interest.
