Manifest V2 leaves Chrome this month. Headlines say it kills ad blocking. The reality is more nuanced – but the balance does shift toward the company that sells the ads. What's actually lost, and how to keep full filtering: irbis.sh/blog/manifest-v2-chrome/

Kazakhstan in manga? No way! I've never seen our history represented like this in media, it's a shame it's not known better locally (or maybe I'm just out of the loop). Will definitely check it out, thank you!

A viral dog rescue from 2016 is now immortalized with a statue in Kazakhstan. When a dog fell into the Sayran reservoir, bystanders formed a human chain to pull him to safety. The statue is a reminder of the value of unity, solidarity and collective action. 14/10 for all

Also, the whole Zen story is just unfortunate. Our public release was earlier than Zen Browser’s, and while I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and obviously have no claim over “Zen”, it’s still uncool. It does indeed hurt discoverability, significantly.

Great article, and thanks for the shoutout! Feel free to drop us a bug report about the HTTP/3 issue. It’s likely due to Go stdlib’s lack of support for HTTP/3, but we should at the very least downgrade to HTTP/2, not HTTP/1.1. I’m focusing on app performance atm, so it’ll be prioritized.

Trust me, low-level macOS APIs are so much worse. At least Windows has *some* online documentation, instead of forcing you to piece things together from old Apple forum comments and poorly documented .h files.

In 2021, Apple published "A Day in the Life of Your Data", showing how an ordinary day – a parent taking their child to the playground – is quietly turned into a data trail harvested by hundreds of companies. 1/6
Alt text: "Promotional graphic with a blurred photo of a laptop in the background and a white rounded rectangle overlay. At top left is the Zen shield logo and 'ZEN'. Large headline reads 'Apple: A day in the life of your data' (the word 'data' in blue), with a subtitle below: 'How an average day turns into a data trail'."

SQLite’s Code of Conduct is based on The Rule of St. Benedict, a Christian set of rules governing monastic life. This is quite funny at first, but even funnier is that, with a bit of imagination, some of the rules actually make sense in the context of OSS development. Here are some of my favorites:
