The Eurasian Stone-curlew still at Ryall Court Pits, Upton-upon-Severn this morning. Distant views but thanks to the power of a Nikon P1000 and some AI sharpening, the photographic results were better! Also 11 Golden Plover over, Dunlin, Green Sandpiper & Pintail. #WorcsBirds

I'm already covering the WeBS count for Ripple Pits Paul, so I'll leave this site for another enthusiastic, perhaps younger, birder. There are plenty out there!

The Ring Ouzel that flew past the west side of Table Hill, and continued around the north side of North Hill, was relocated by the rocky crag on the east side of North Hill (pictured), before flying towards Chat/Happy Valley. It looks like a juvenile male. #WorcsBird

No further sign of the Dotterel in the North Hill, Table Hill, Sugarloaf Hill area, since being flushed by Kestrel on North Hill. It was seen to fly west, but lost to view behind Table Hill and may have continued west. Tree Pipit and Ring Ouzel recently dropped in. #WorcsBirds

After finding a Red-veined Darter exuvia at Throckmorton main outer lagoon recently, a return visit this morning produced 2 newly emerged, a female at the west end & male in the NE corner. Next on to the western lagoons where 2 male Southern Migrant Hawker patrolled the reedbeds #WorcsDragonflies

With sightings of Southern Migrant Hawker at NT Croome Court Lake in recent days, I visited all my local patch sand/gravel pits in south Worcestershire & came up trumps with this egg-laying pair. 1st proven breeding for the county #WorcsDragonflies @britishdragonflies.bsky.social

Numbers 1, 2, 4, 7, 8, 9 are Willow Emerald Damselfly, 5 & 6 are Black-tailed Skimmer, 10 and Emperor Dragonfly and finally 3 is a very recently emerged individual, probably White-legged Damselfly.

Andy Warr @andywarr.bsky.social · 20/06/2026
The small lake in the nw corner is good for White-legged Damselfly and small numbers of Banded & Beautiful Demoiselle. All the lakes hold Black-tailed Skimmer, the odd Four-spotted Chaser, Emperor and has held Lesser Emperor for the past couple of years, Small Red-eyed should be out now.
