to pin it on them in ways there never were before, especially as they're struggling to keep him from dragging them down. The best Susan Collins can do is "I got road salt exempted from the tariffs" for a reason. They have given him everything, voted for everything, confirmed every appointee

This is a real high risk high reward moment for America in that everything is shit, and everything standing is in terrible danger but the nation did not get to see just how horrible Trump is the first time around because there were other people who stopped him. There's a chance -

What I like about this video is it shows me hitting like 7 or 8 threes in a row twice but also missing several of the easiest layups along the way which is about right

This is almost exactly what I say to my students. I don't have any use for your essays! You have use for your essays!

It also would have some negative effects! Like anything that is less regulated. But we've reached a point where the regulation has killed the thing but good

democrats are in love with consultants as well so there's a bipartisan consensus against this happening

It is interesting though, because the same thing is going on everywhere, managerial culture has been about removing as much agency from employees as possible and either taking it themselves or passing it on to consultants and the way out is to trust people to do their jobs but

It's all out in the open now where outside experts think they can remove those pesky teachers from the equation, and that's a big part of what AI is supposed to do, too. The only problem is - everyone hates it and it sucks

The answer is probably the Alamo with John Wayne but mainly because of the years between 1990 and 1998 or so

One unfortunate thing with AI in this regard is that now it can be blamed but so much money has been spent on ed consultants for such a long period of time and NO ONE would say the results have been good. Just don't spend it! Empower teachers!

The other thing about this that is obvious is that the problem with a dictatorship is you don't get to pick the dictator

Trump's problem with Iran is no one really cares that much if Iran has nuclear weapons. Many people would prefer otherwise, but it's not keeping anyone up at night. He's out here like "literally anything to stop this thing only i care about from happening, I don't care if they kill you personally

It's not even that they lie, right, like everyone knows they lie, it's that the defense of that used to be that it was good for them to be fact checked on air or challenged on their lies or whatever, I'm not so sure

This time, the lesson of Brazil is that no blue wave, however big, in November is nearly enough to safeguard democracy and what we care about, and it is long past time that we thought past one or two elections

One of the reasons this stuff happens is that only humanities faculty even RESEMBLE rw nightmares about the socialist university and we end up on committees with everyone else

This was not a judgment on the value or cash value of manual labor, but we weren't being motivated to succeed academically because we were too good for it, but because it was not considered a better life, all things considered

As a descendant of Jewish immigrants this whole discourse has been so weird. You explicitly grow up with "work hard and get a good education so you don't have to break your body."
