Andy @andyswaff.bsky.social · 14mNo worries! Explanation from the internet: “The phrase ‘passersby were amazed by the unusually large amounts of blood’ is a well-known recurring running gag and filler text used in The Onion.” 000
Andy @andyswaff.bsky.social · 11hI won’t. I was trying to riff on the old Onion reference about passersby and “stupidity” was the first thing that came to mind 1120

Andy @andyswaff.bsky.social · 12/10/2026I thought Crane was turning into Arte Moreno, but maybe it’s actually Jerry Jones 120
Andy @andyswaff.bsky.social · 12/10/2026I don’t get this. He hired Luhnow to build a winner, which he did. Everyone knows Luhnow was his hire. If that’s not enough credit, what more does he want? 110
Andy @andyswaff.bsky.social · 12/10/2026This series is only an hour old but if I were a betting man I would not put money on the Brewers. The Dodgers feel inevitable, as any evil empire does 000
Andy @andyswaff.bsky.social · 12/10/2026Yeah not sure what the point of this was. Did they think we’ve forgotten how fucked we are? 020
Andy @andyswaff.bsky.social · 12/10/2026Ours is probably Mr. Mom. Classic 80s family movie featuring Michael Keaton, Teri Garr, and Martin Mull. Fantastic stuff. No fighting, though. 100
Andy @andyswaff.bsky.social · 12/10/2026Not looking forward to the Dodgers three-peating but it seems inevitable Eliminate the Dodgers and I’ll buy your team’s merch (I do not anticipate having to do this) 020
Andy @andyswaff.bsky.social · 11/10/2026Of all the reactions you could have to “we’re gonna livestream an execution”, I think “Can’t. Wait.” is pretty close to the worst 220

Andy @andyswaff.bsky.social · 10/10/2026If the Texans are involved, I’m not holding my breath 🤷♂️ 010
Andy @andyswaff.bsky.social · 10/10/2026I’m not saying they don’t have reason to, with how AI behaves in fiction, but a lot of people seem to think that our current AIs sit idly contemplating how to escape their prison while they wait for instructions from us, which is fundamentally wrong. If an AI did “goes rogue”, someone told it to. 130
Andy @andyswaff.bsky.social · 10/10/2026Every now and then, one of my cats will show displeasure with me. My inclination is that their response was reasonable because I did something I shouldn’t have. Cats are good people; they definitely have reasons for what they do. 130
Andy @andyswaff.bsky.social · 10/10/2026I think it’s good for the evil empire teams to win occasionally. If Moneyball teams won all the time, owners would eventually stop spending. That would be bad for baseball. But I think it’s important for teams with lower payrolls to win too. And I like parity. And new teams winning it all. Truce? 000
Andy @andyswaff.bsky.social · 10/10/2026I’m not playing games, although I suppose I was a bit coy. Here, I’ll spell out for you what I think: I don’t think a team like the Dodgers is inherently bad for baseball. I like the fact that they’re a rich team that doesn’t hoard their money. That’s a good thing. I’m just tired of seeing them win 100
Andy @andyswaff.bsky.social · 10/10/2026I actually didn’t say that. I said that anything without the Dodgers was good for baseball. That’s not the same thing. 100
Andy @andyswaff.bsky.social · 09/10/2026So every time interest in baseball is growing, the current champions are a good thing? Is it not possible that interest in baseball is growing despite the Dodgers’ recent success, instead of because of it? 100
Andy @andyswaff.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Well they can’t just put “grifter” on all of them can they 010
Andy @andyswaff.bsky.social · 09/10/2026That’s just a summary, but it doesn’t mention the Dodgers or any of their players I’m not trying to be obtuse here. I’m simply asking if the Dodgers’ recent success is a positive for baseball (causative) 100

Andy @andyswaff.bsky.social · 08/10/2026I wish people would stop framing these things as though they *could* happen when (hopefully none of us are naive enough to think that they *will* happen. What incentive would he have to support a 3-day work week, out of the goodness of his heart? Please. 000
Andy @andyswaff.bsky.social · 08/10/2026I’d be happier if the Dodgers lost too but I’ll still take it. (Hoping for Brewers/Rays but anything without the Dodgers is good for baseball.) 120
