I went looking for the lineup to see if I could figure out some of the names and am disappointed to learn the original image had Party Cannon in the same boring style as everyone else BUT on the plus side it's from 2015, so very much pre-AI! They ruined these logos the old-fashioned way, by hand

This spelling is consistent with the text, so it's either intentional or an actual error, rather than a typo. Given that it's only mentioned as a list of districts in the Bolton entry I would lean towards the error

Etherscope (a Victorian AU steampunk RPG) went partway with this, positing a new British capital of "The Great Metropolis", formed of the Liverpool-Manchester conurbation. There was an entire supplement fleshing it out, and as a Manchester resident it was a lot of silly fun

Okay sooooo. Google carried through on their threat and made Gemini the default assistant on Android phones. Gemini isn't enabled on my account (partly because it's a legacy Workspaces account, but also I haven't enabled it because I just don't want that).

The digital photography doesn't quite capture the difference in colour here. SS86 (non-MTMTE) Rod isn't quite the magenta of the movie, but he's definitely a shade closer towards it than MPG-20's bold red, and the shins are slightly more mauve. Overall MPG-20 looks kinda like Rodimus Prime

The big extra is these flaps that fold out to cover the knees at the back. But also the shoulders are sprung shells that hinge out when they get too close to the torso, which helps poseability a lot

They clearly had SOME visual reference, the droids are super detailed and consistent. But as said elsewhere, the SFX will not have been finalised until long after shooting wrapped. What's interesting to me is what's drawn accurately but coloured wrong, like the rebel troop on this page.

A page from Marvel's Star Wars #1, during the boarding of the Tantive IV, in its original colours. Notably the Rebel trooper's uniform is coloured fanciful hues of green and red. Most of the panel backgrounds are striking blocks of red and orange in contrast to the set's bright whites.

Durpleton, the giraffetaur from Centaurworld. He has a long giraffe neck between his human head and human torso, which itself sits atop a giraffe body. Also his ears are giraffe ears and he has giraffe horns.

Overlaying the Spidey mask is a classic move to indicate spider-sense, but idk maybe line up the eyeholes is all I'm saying unless the idea is that the "eyes" are painted on decoys? the whole mask is a semitransparent gauze from behind? they must have noticed

Peter Parker demonstrates his peter-tingle, from the animated episode "The Capture of Captain America" (1981). His head is overlayed with an image of Spider-Man's mask but the eyeholes do not line up with his actual eyes

.... alright, you know what? I've decided this actually does work, and is slightly less brain-achy than the horizontal version because there's less temptation to jump left-to-right. It maybe even works better this way, because he's not asking a question that merits a "because".

Yeah, pretty sure this is where it came from, and it worked well enough for the Model I's more cylindrical helmet but it's weird that it stuck around after the red and gold was introduced
