Slept in too late for The Calling, but I’ll be around the #fabtcg venue this weekend on and off. If you see me, say hi!

#fabtcg SAGE is pretty fun! Went 7-2 on briar today and came home with the gold!

Nothing like sitting through a 4 minute at-temperature steep just for the herbal tea that looked like it might be tasty to actually be gross.

A plane white cup filled with disappointment

My youtube channel, youtube.com/@andymodellbackpacks is an adult. To celebrate, today I've filmed a video, but I won't be publishing it just yet. Stay tuned for after I get the affiliate link from the bag provider all set up :P

Basically, I draft a lot... but I'm also old. Take that as you will.

No #fabtcg PQs because traveling, but got my Kanazawa Good Foil ice cream, so I basically won

At a Hawker Center today, I’m pretty sure that one stall’s cash register is just a pile of newspaper the guy is putting the cash under (left of the pot in the photo). If it works, it works.

Update: finished the Australia leg of the trip, and it was a blast. Sydney is definitely a city I’d consider living in if it were closer to the rest of the world, and seeing the Great Barrier Reef was awesome.

Update: went 4-1 in Swiss (2nd seed), won the QF game, took the promo, then dropped so I could go to sleep.

Nothing like running into friends also visiting the city

My in-laws bike 12 miles for the ride. We bike 2 miles to the deli. We are not the same.

Crown jewel of my collection is a baseball signed by the artists at the first #fabcw #fabtcg world championship in 2022. It’s also signed by Michael Hamilton (first world championship) And James White!

I may have missed a round start day 2 of the Calling NJ and got knocked out of the money by the IP, but grabbing this ©️2018 uncut Ira starter deck sheet was totally worth it #fabcw #fabtcg. Also, here’s a baseball with art from all the Worlds2022 artists, JW, and Michael Hamilton signatures

Really fun. My lovely wife, Abigail Elaine, appeared on the local CBS affiliate’s Great Day Washington program today where she discussed hormonal balance and shared her nutrition bar business, OVU. Check out the clip here: www.wusa9.com/video/entert...

High Seas #fabtcg prerelease today. Went 3-0 with this harpoonless cannon pile. Also, pulled a CF EA Dead Threads for helping the store out with Gem, so good day so far.

Armory at CardArt in Sunnyvale, CA. There were 7 of us surrounded by YuGiOh players. Ended up with a Bye, Loss to Jarl, and Win to Cindra as Rhinar again. The Jarl game was really close, decided by two scabs rolls to 1 in a row. #armoryrecap #fabtcg

What a novel yet innovative solution to #fabtcg Living Legend System. New heroes LL too quickly: slow them down! Old heroes stick around too long: Speed them up! A hero is broken early on: get in a ban while they're still at 1/2 speed. fabtcg.com/en/articles/...

I really love playing #fabtcg armories while traveling. This week was my second time at the store, the previous in 2023.

Returned to OP Comics & Games for a #fabtcg armory while visiting my in-laws. Ran super hot tonight going 3-0 on @rhinarceros.bsky.social’s Rhinar list. Probably got 2aps off scabs 70% of the time, enough to fatigue Jarl. Also, pulled the marvel in my gem pack! #armoryrecap

So, the main question on everybody's mind: Now that the Pope in Italy is from Chicago, does that mean he'll finally put an end to all of those who doubt that Chicago style pizza is, in fact, pizza?!?!?!?

For some reason, pancakes and cake pans don’t go together. You’d think you could use a cake pan to make a pancake, but that’s never how it works out.

A tale of three Risottos. Before London, Abigail and I spent a week in Italy. Milanese risotto is yellow because of the saffron they use, Verona’s is purple because of the locally-grown wine they add, and Venice’s has seafood. They were all delicious, regional, and totally unique.

Not checking social media for mental health, but here’s a goal complete. 4-1 Drop at the draft RTN got me a #fabtcg US Nationals invite based on ELO. Now, I don’t feel bad for trying to maintain what I have!

Tonight, we made mushroom scallop risotto. Forgot to bring our IDs to the grocery store, so we used the red wine we had instead of the white we intended, but it was still dynamite!

Mushroom risotto with hints of green basil and onion. There are four scallops around the risotto lining the bowl

3-0 taking Aurora to tonight’s armory. Beat a Verdance, Victor, Verdance. In the last game, I had the combo and drew a second flicker wisp off the gold for a massive turn. Still, we were 7-7 the turn before I closed it with a natural draw second combo #armoryrecap

Took some shiny Aurora cards to my #fabtcg armory last night. This LGS used to struggle to get 4 players, but we had 7 with two regulars out of town! I ended up 1-1. Before I had to leave for a meeting, but it was great to play CC in person for the first time in a while #armoryrecap

Nothing like the top tables of the RTN dropping after game 5 to preserve ELO. 4-1 drop, and I should be good for #fabtcg US Nats!

Judging at the #fabtcg World Tour Memphis was a great time! It was fun getting to lead a team of judges at a Calling for the first time, and I’ve managed to keep my judge-party draft game record at a strong 5-0

Yesterday, I began the process of cleaning up my #fabtcg collection before HNT comes out. My first step was going through old decks and removing all of the M/L/SR cards to sort. Doing this, I realize that I've built CC decks for all classes except Assassin.... so I know what I'll be building next!
