I see Ricky Bell has finally broken cover to slate a union for trying to protect its members. Russell Martin levels of impact after his appointment to the big gig.

Liam Gallagher sniping at Jim McDonald from Corrie over on the other place. The World Wide Web is some place.

If we’re talking genuine justice, Man City are playing League Two football next season. Won’t happen because money talks.

Build good infrastructure and people will use it. The Voi bikes or variation of them have to be baked into any future transport planning. Keep them affordable and it will only grow even more.

Absolute Ed Sheeran nonsense, this.

The very best of luck to the “please do not speculate” lads on the RAF Fairford thing 😆 Poor bastards look like they’ve been out nicking fuel and a local busybody has nearly had them machine gunned is the most plausible looking theory. Fake sign on the van, barrels etc.

I realise that this has been paused, but I still don’t think this guy has said anything on this subject yet. Mere days into his tenure he has proven himself unfit to lead our city. Zero leadership shown.

Mentioned it last week on a different issue, but it’s hard to think of a more out of their depth minister than Chris Bryant. Truly hopeless.

The shade from the stands is very annoying to the eyes at the Scotland game here.

Good. Absolutely outrageous tactics by the council to even float the idea.

I’m really sorry for you @colinedgar.bsky.social. Must be hellish. Nobody forced the council to threaten the workers with fire and rehire an hour before September weekend. Acting like a Thatcherite stooge is still acting like a Thatcherite stooge, even if you’re doing a sad face with it.
000
Andy @andykp.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
Get fucked. Labour are absolutely responsible for starting the fire, but it’s an SNP council putting fire and rehire notices through the doors of thousands of workers. Own it.

The fact that Ricky Bell has said not one word on the bomb dropped on 23000 Glasgow City Council employees yesterday is nothing short of an absolute disgrace. Cowardly.

Andy @andykp.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
Now, pure rage would be an understatement at how I’m feeling about the SNP and Greens on GCC tonight, but this takes the biscuit. The arsonist standing at the scene of the crime trying to tell the fire brigade what to do.

Andy @andykp.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
Class start to the September weekend. Big line through the ballot paper has never been more tempting. It’s Labour’s fire, but trying to put it out by pishing on the people trapped in the inferno wouldn’t necessarily be the tactic I’d have gone for.

Load of the Scottish seats will stay Labour when it comes to the crunch. We’re back in “keep the Tories/Reform out” territory when it comes to UK elections in Scotland. Labour will misinterpret what the result means and then be annihilated further at Holyrood and local level. The cycle continues.

Andy @andykp.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
Know what’s class? See when you cancel your bank card, believing it lost, only to find it in one of the most obvious possible places.

The drug crisis can never be fixed without a serious and mature policy discussion that involves truly radical change. We’re over half a century on from the Misuse of Drugs Act being introduced and we’re largely playing by the same rules in a changed society where significant research has been done.

Your occasional reminder that only one side of the independence debate resorted to fascist violence following the referendum result.

Watched that War Game thing against my better judgement btw. Absolutely awful. So bad that you couldn’t look away. All of them so bad at being stuck in between acting and trying to appear normal. Worth a watch, purely to laugh at everyone involved.

Blair McDougall losing his shit about East Ren being brought under the Glasgow umbrella ticks a good number of boxes for me being in favour of it.

If we’re doing smaller local authorities, I think it’s crucial that they’re given the most obscure names possible.

I realise this is extremely late and you’d need to be nearby, but I’ve a spare Saint Etienne ticket for the Barras tonight. Free of charge if anyone wants it. My body simply will not permit me to do three nights out in a row.

Twelve years ago around now, three stone lighter, two operating knees and marginally less cynical, I was knocking doors in Mount Florida in the most pointless “get the vote out” in history. Everyone was going, everyone was enthusiastic. A great day, followed by a gut punch. Still and always Yes.

Wait until Kemi Badenoch finds out who is largely responsible for the fifteen years of austerity that has brought local government to this boiling point.

Badenoch brings in lawyers after 94% Wandsworth Council tax hike
A row is growing over Wandsworth Council's rise, which the local authority is blaming on government funding cuts.

British politicians truly have no grasp on how to handle the sensitivities in the North of Ireland. When you snark like this, you’re not snarking at a political party. You’re doing so at 50% of the population. It’s basically saying “we’re in charge, know your place” to the nationalist community.

Can you even begin to imagine taking the day off work, Dumfries to Dingwall, back down the road at 3.30am. I’d have been in the Mallard at 4-0 and possibly faking my own death. That bus back 💀💀💀

See this bollocks from self-proclaimed “sensible” voices. The Good Friday Agreement was nearly thirty years ago. People voted for peace and Sinn Fein were part of that agreement. If it was ok for Ian Paisley to be in government with them, I’m sure it’s fine for anyone else to talk to them.

the interesting thing about the english guys going into the calton bookshop to kick up a fuss is they've obviously cooked their heads online and assume left wing people in glasgow are like, "blue haired people with pronouns" and not like, middle aged GMB shop stewards from haghill who could deck 'em

Serious point on this Proclaimers stuff. How do you go from music that is essentially about solidarity and railing against Thatcherism, to what ever the fuck this pish is meant to be? If you’re a socialist, your instinct is surely to stand with and protect all minority groups? I don’t get it.

There’s a certain type on the Scottish left who you will never see laying into the right. You’ll see them laying into other folk on the left for the way they talk or whatever, but never actually having a pop at the actual enemy. It all screams of envy at not having the public profile they desire.
