Bristle-thighed Curlew, Coffee Dome, Nome, Alaska. The first thing we heard was the song as pair flew in above us. Three hours later...we were leaving, we actually got to see them well thanks to @birdingbazzer.bsky.social #bristlethighedcurlew #birds #nearthreatened xeno-canto.org/species/Nume...

A pair of Bristle-thighed Curlew, a large shorebird/wader with a long downward curved bill. Almost an endemic breeder in Alaska, near threatened conservation status. It's song is well worth seeking out!
