So the new Doodle product is super frustrating. They only let you have one live poll at any one time on the free account now, which is totally cool. But they also only allow you to delete one poll every 30 days.

I believe that token costs have become the new Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC). Rather than spending money on paid advertising, you now need to spend a ton of money giving away free tokens in the hope that users get enough value to want to pay. medium.com/the-design-v...

Every time somebody suggests taxing the super rich, newspapers and TV pundits claim it’ll just drive rich people away. On the rare occasion those taxes are applied (like removing non dom status), the research generally shows the number of people leaving for tax reasons are negligible.

It's a small thing but I was using ChatGPT to help me find a couple it items to buy. I asked if it knew of any voucher codes. The voucher code it found had expired the previous day. But it told me that if I bought a 50p sticker it would make the spend eligable for cheaper shipping.

Sad that our neighbours are chopping down a large tree in their garden. It was home to lots of birds and cast a nice amount of shade over our garden. On the plus side we wid sometimes worry about what would happen if it came down in a storm (which is why I assume they're probably getting rid of it).

I do wonder whether increasingly capable open-weight models from China, such as Kimi K3, could help burst the US AI bubble. If they sharply reduce the cost of useful inference, the huge investments in compute may struggle to earn the returns currently assumed through future token spend.

There are LOTS of reasons to be cautious about using foundational AI models to code. But for a UX designer, having the ability to generate frontend code is mind-blowing. I get to explore EXACTLY what I want in seconds, not days. No debating feasibility, just pure, instant iteration.
