Lesbian SFF with an emphasis on the human in the speculative, marrying complex emotions with fun and/or fucked up worldbuilding. ...yeah. that feels correct.

Adonai is God (one of them). They are the sheep that Elohim tended to. The skull Adonai wears used to be a choice, an optional token of this relationship that is now fused to Them and cannot be removed. anyways i have a lot of thoughts about Adonai & Elohim & their history & how Kit fits in

ooooo this is fun, yes to both!! or, well, MC and a very close side character do Kit wears a metaphorical mask. He was raised to be perfect. no flaws, no questions, no urdening others with his needs. The mask of the Good Catholic™️ Adonai wears a literal mask, a ram's skull!! #LGBTQWriteAThon

anyways here's screenshots of the sheet, the first set is from when i started the framework in the office and the darkmode is after many hours of tweaking formulas and entering data (half of my tmnt deck)

i started the sheet in the office earlier and joey came by and the only defense i had was "i'm really enjoying this in an autistic way"

Kit also experiences chronic night terrors, ones that are connected to the house he grew up in and the church that's hiding something in the basement

i do 🥰🥰 on a real note, tho, the biggest cause of anxiety in DESECRATE is Catholicism. it's the backdrop of the story, and Kit trying to figure out what he believes is core to that. Leaving a religion is never easy, especially one that imparts such helpful gifts as Guilt and Shame #LGBTQWriteAThon

gotta love a good sense of foreboding, this one happens right at the beginning of DESECRATE! #LGBTQWriteAThon

DESECRATE SNIPPET: FOREBODING. The mid-day sun shines through the cracked windshield of the truck, the soft light warming me despite a chill running down my spine when I look out at the St. Peter of the Field’s Catholic Church. The facade is weathered, moss and vines creep over the uneven stones and eat gouges into the once pristine building. Even the gardens are decaying; the rose bushes I once tended are running wild, their branches spilling over the edge of the pavement and overloaded with premature buds. The centerpiece, then, is the heavy metal chains crossing over the door, held together by a little red ribbon.
Thoughts rush through my mind like a roaring river, tumbling over one another until they blend into one: This ain’t right.

my WIP this month is DESECRATE (again)!! we're working on re-vamping it for my editing class laster this fall, i want to have a fully completed manuscript to work with (we're almost there!) DESECRATE is a rural Dark Academia novel about Catholic heresy ♡ #LGBTQWriteAThon

a moodboard for DESECRATE with a dark brown/black color vibe. Images have Catholic imagery as well as rural and academic imagery. In the center is the title, DESECRATE, as well as "Second draft. 100k word goal".
