Andrew Davison @andrewjdavison.com · 10/10/2025The latest issue of Replit Builders newsletter went out yesterday 📬 Covers: Their acquisition of OpenInt + Stripe integration made easy, migrating from Vercel to Replit, Amjad talks Replit history, another live session incoming and a look at which apps companies are paying for (hint: Replit). 130 0
Andrew Davison @andrewjdavison.com · 03/01/2025Being the “friendlier” platform wasn’t enough as it turns out. Although imo the “Popular with Friends” feed it’s pretty rubbish. Never see anything interesting there. 110 0
Andrew Davison @andrewjdavison.com · 03/01/2025I agree it’s an issue - mainly I think because people are in a rush and give the most minimal feedback they can. Any ideas how to solve? 100 0

Andrew Davison @andrewjdavison.com · 02/01/2025Always 😁 Zapier consulting, teaching an AI course, writing tutorials for an AI edu site, two newsletters and a bunch of little side hustles. Latest problem I’m solving = UptimeRobot killed their free plan so I’m building myself a replacement. Maybe I’ll open it for others. 120 0

Andrew Davison @andrewjdavison.com · 02/01/2025All I’m saying is that there’s nothing wrong with practicing on the ideas you have right now to build your skills for when you have an idea that might sell. You build 3 “useless” products and in doing so, get an idea for a useful one. Then it was worth it. And nowerdays it’s so much easier to do 🙂 120 0
Andrew Davison @andrewjdavison.com · 02/01/2025I think people underestimate the value of just building something. Anything. Repeatedly. Just for the sake of honing your craft. You get inspired. Before though it took so long it was hard because you need to do something to earn money alongside. But now it’s much easier to just build and see. 110 0
Andrew Davison @andrewjdavison.com · 02/01/2025Not yet but it looks useful. I might show it to Replit Agent and see what it can build with it. 010 0
Andrew Davison @andrewjdavison.com · 02/01/2025The good thing about AI coding tools is that this mantra just isn’t that important anymore. When an MVP can be built in less than 1 hour it’s now totally fine to just test whatever idea pops into your head 😁 2120 0

Andrew Davison @andrewjdavison.com · 30/12/2024Finally I asked it to find and display a YouTube video for each band. Done 👉 localbands.replit.app 010 0
Andrew Davison @andrewjdavison.com · 30/12/2024Next, integrate with Perplexity to pull a list of local bands. Replit Agent got a bit stuck here parsing the band data from the Perplexity JSON response - lost $0.45 to fixing that. (I had it display the JSON on page so I could screenshot that back to Agent) 110 0
Andrew Davison @andrewjdavison.com · 30/12/2024I broke the app into steps/problems to solve… Replit Agent does better that way. First: click a button, get long/lat coordinates. Second: use that to calculate nearest town. 100 0
Andrew Davison @andrewjdavison.com · 30/12/2024Day 3 in Italy - I wanted to find some local bands to listen to. So I built an app with #Replit. It cost $1.65 and took 45mins. Push a button… the app finds the nearest town/city… lists some bands… plays me a YouTube video 🎧 #buildinpublic 180 0

Andrew Davison @andrewjdavison.com · 29/12/2024The final step… asking Replit to create comparison pages for every single metric + fruit pair combo. It nailed it in a single prompt 😁 👉 fruitcompare.replit.app 120 0
Andrew Davison @andrewjdavison.com · 29/12/2024Didn’t even know I would do a pSEO site at first… just asked Replit to build something fun with the API and let it parse the content of the API docs. First, it made some ‘random fruit’ checker with a comparison tool on the side. I asked it to zero in on comparison. 110 0
