This literally happened to a company a friend of mine was working at. They helped get me an interview for the job after I had already been rejected automatically once. After the second round of interviews, they went dark & my friend told me the project got shuttered & everyone was out of a job.

Most of them are ghost jobs, some of them are places that seem to be holding out for some kind of super-unicorn because the labor market is so glutted which eventually leads to them never hiring anyone for the position before the project gets cancelled anyway. Shits fucked.

It's a pic of me on a staircase. I think it was at PAX, long before the current US hellscapes stopped me from visiting the US. I should get a new photo made, because I don't really look like this anymore. One time, the TSA confiscated my shaving kit - and I arrived at GDC unshaven with a full moustache. I thought I'd dodge the crowds and get some shaving kit, but I ran into a bunch of people and all of them remarked along the lines of "much better" so now I wear my moustache. We throw newbs in a pit. We tell them they must be competitive auteurs from day one, and that they’re disposable. Young professionals need space to learn. Apprenticeships and junior roles. They don’t know what they don’t know. We need entry level jobs. We’re moving in the opposite direction.
