Ohhh I get it. Truck (wire) nuts.
The back half of a bright red SUV (or van maybe? I dunno, I'm not a car person). Hanging from the rear bumper are two bright blue electrician wire nuts (for people outside of the US, the blue is typical for 120v /15A circuits. There are other colors for different amperages/wire gauges, but blue is extremely common).

A couch with a bunch of (teenager) crap on it; dirty clothes, a black dell laptop, Nintendo Switch, and cell phone. Two tabby cats (Twig and his mom Widget) are lying on the couch as well. The are cuddled together, so you can't tell them apart, but both of their head are towards the camera. Twig is asleep, head resting on the Switch. The vast majority of kids benefiting from this public funding for private school are white — in a city where Black and brown students experience systemic educational disparities and are disproportionately represented among students with disabilities. Of roughly 20,000 due process cases settled in fiscal year 2025, about 65% involved white students, even though they only make up 16% of the public school population.

oh yes
bluesky thread by Dan O'Sullivan:
"Today I saw the new 4 hour documentary Musk, directed by Alex Gibney. There were too many times to count that a sold out theater burst out laughing at Elon Musk, something he said or did, even sometimes just how he looked. I believe that is his worst nightmare come to life.
I should add that in addition to being much funnier than anticipated--Musk is going to be intensely humiliated by this movie, it's going to attack the deepest wounds he tries so hard to conceal--it is also bone-chilling. I think he gutted USAID with DOGE to kill masses of people in the third world.
I should also add that when the movie got to showing people burning Teslas and vandalizing dealerships, the theater of mostly older folks in Santa Monica started applauding. I think it is possible Trump and Musk turned libs over 50 into John Brown.
There's a moment early on that's just footage of Elon Musk balding and in khakis walking down an office hallway in the late 90s and the entire audience burst out laughing. If Musk is made aware of audience reactions like this I think he might actually crash out.

Zoomed in on the painting on.. what I think are flowers or leaves or something. They have a blue swirl at the top, which looks like Sonic's head with the spikes of fur (I'm talking mid-90s Sonic here, not the weird live-action Sonic movies). There's two bits of background that look like Sonic's white eyes, and then a yellowish thing underneath that could be his mouth. There's some random green in there too, but (in the version where it's sonic) that could just be background or something.

Well that's a fucking terrifying image. pluralistic.net/2026/09/03/broken-a…
So what happens when Trump strokes out while watching Kid Rock wrestle a Hulk Hogan impersonator in a televised barbed-wire cage match on the White House lawn that one of Trump's cronies has exclusive pay-per-view rights to? I mean, it's possible that the Democratic leadership will step up and insist on some form of regular order in the succession to Vance, but come on.It is more likely that Vance – a weak, unimportant charisma-vacuum who is loathed by all of Trump's factions – will end up presiding over a far more chaotic period in American governance than anything that happened under Trump. That could mean ICE leaders ordering mass graves dug in the centers of America's largest cities, drunken generals invading random countries, podcasters declaring "The Purge" with brackets sponsored by Kalshi.

This isn't the first time in living memory that this has happened. In 1991 the Soviet Union collapsed, virtually overnight, and the fragile threads that bound its feuding, corrupt regional bosses all snapped, leaving behind nuclear-tipped mafia states. This was a chaotic and frightening time for the people whose governments had simply winked out of existence – but it was also terrifying for the rest of the world, who scrambled to secure those nukes
