When your dreams decide to remind you what a nightmare looks like it's always a humbling experience. Last night I had one of the most disturbing, hellscape, incoherently horrific sado-sexual dreams I've ever had. People murdered and turned into cellos, mutilation of important pieces, defilement.

re: "How can a kink be harmful" When it becomes a matter of shame and compulsivity, and is a reflection of adverse childhood events like abuse, you're essentially exposing yourself to trauma and reliving it over and over again. This can start a cycle of shame, relief-seeking, and escalation.

2 cents. I won't demonize any kinks as indicative of an individual's capacity for harm. Some kinks are deeply unhealthy, driven by shame, and result from trauma and compulsivity rather than mindful enjoyment. It is not your right to inflict that trauma on others and demand it be respected.
