Big move for the host of COP29: "As a sign of good gesture, the Republic of Armenia supports the bid of the Republic of Azerbaijan to host the 29th Session of the Conference of Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, by withdrawing its own candidacy."

Yes, online, that's why! I'm with a climate policy team and I focus on GST and fossil fuels :) Will you be posting on bluesky news during negotiations?

IPCC summaries are negotiated by countries BUT controlled/approved by IPCC scientists = summaries reflect the longer report ie. the scientific literature

Wow! OPEC is really mad at IEA latest report... "The manner in which the IEA has unfortunately used its social media platforms in recent days to criticize and instruct the oil&gas ind. is undiplomatic to say the least. OPEC itself is not an org. that would prescribe to others what they should do."

True! But 3am for me is noon in Dubai so I think it's a pretty good compromise between missing morning negotiations (and not waking up too early) and still being able to follow late negotiations 🤷🏻‍♂️

In my dream: phaseout of all fossil fuels. In reality: - ambitious GST, paving the way for the next NDCs - phase down of all fossil fuels, or at least unabated - promise for reimbursements of lost earnings of $100bn in order to regain trust - new JETP Should be enough 😅
