The BIG problem is because of massive car manufacturing influence, most media and political energy is going to EVs, with not NEARLY enough going to fewer cars and less driving. But the priority HAS to be the latter, since it’s the part of the solution that will actually do much more public good.

#ResistanceRoots Today in history, 1945: The all-Nisei 522nd Field Artillery Battalion halts a death march from Dachau to the Austrian border, saving hundreds of emaciated prisoners. As they freed victims of Nazi persecution, many of their own families were being held in U.S. internment camps. /1

A watercolor-style political cartoon set on the bridge of a naval ship - military officer in a tan uniform and cap stands looking through binoculars out toward the sea, where a ship is visible on the horizon. Behind him, a sailor sitting at a control console looks back toward the officer. A speech bubble from the sailor reads: "New orders, sir. We have to wait until the stock exchange is open before we attack."

Sadly the current right-wing coalition government in Finland has foolishly cut the funding for the nation’s “Housing First” success story, and homelessness is predictably now on the rise again. That just reinforces the fact that such programs work, if lazy political ideology doesn’t get in the way.
