Senate renegotiated this bill to remove funding for DHS and the government went into a partial shutdown starting February 14, 2026. Where this shutdown is affecting DHS, that means it also affects TSA, FEMA, and the Coast Guard. TSA agents have missed two paychecks, many have resigned, causing long lines at air ports. The White House’s solution is to deploy ICE agents to the airports for TSA support. After nearly 6 weeks, the Senate passed a funding bill for DHS agencies except ICE and CBP. However, House Republicans rejected the Senate’s Bill and passed their own continuing resolution which resumed funding for ICE and CBP.
