is it atmospheric humidity that renders them useless (or, unpredictably and varyingly useful?) my old man worked on project star wars(?) back in the day and I vaguely remember him saying that was what made laser ordinance likely to stay scifi.

This is how I feel about smokers also. People at work will enthuse at me about bluetooth connectivity and timers and I’m like. No; I will go outside, feel the breeze/sun, & look at a dial/the smoke, and wiggle a vent the way the Gods Intended. The internet has no place in my pulled pork process.

Being an autistic adult is WILD because people will lecture you saying you need to ask questions if you don’t understand something and then get very mad when you ask the “wrong” questions.

This IS what this country is. It's not the only thing that it is but it is absolutely violent and barbaric. The US. is one of 55 countries that still maintain capital punishment. 140 countries have abolished it. This IS what this country is. Might as well televise the killings.

Magical creatures don’t exist, eh? Roughly 400 million years ago, before the birth of trees, there were giant mystery cones called “Prototaxites,” which grew nearly 30 feet tall. We literally have no idea what they were. Plant: no Mushroom: no Animal: no Tell me this isn’t a little bit magic

nah homie i get it constructed stuff that by design moves and acts in a way the subconscious labels “creature” and at a fundamental level rejects the idea of dignity is deeply unsettling if you go through life concerned with the wellbeing of other creatures.

My favorite is knife, actually! The low stamina cost and 0 movement speed reduction just can’t be beat. Add a buckler for parrying when needed and it’s a very fun and engaging way to approach the combat.

… Now I’m wondering how skewed/anomalous of an upbringing I got being raised by a (rare?) Divorced Dad that may have resented having to do it, but was perfectly capable of cooking, laundry, dishes, and basic household cleaning, and insistent on teaching me how to do it as well.

Wild. I was literally just thinking about hamburger helper minutes ago(happens rarely)! I loved it as a kid, then later had “are we poor” feelings about it and my single parent household. We were! and that’s ok tbh. But now hamburger costs more than an hour of work at min wage. seems bad!

I remember there was one at Jerry’s pet shop in the mall where I grew up. They had a sign that said “don’t stick hands in, danger”. I was an eyewitness books kid so I felt kinda crazy at the relatively low level of caution.
