🌳Vote Preston Twin for tree of the year!🌳 It is a giant English Elm which has survived Dutch elm disease. It is also the only twin that is still standing. And it can be found in Brighton. www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/trees-woods-...

I have seen 50 species of moth, which is kind of a lot higher than I was expecting for this point in the year. I've been to way more moth trapping events than I was ever expecting!

Having goldfinches eating the seeds of yellow rattle in the meadow outside my window is a magical experience. What's better is I'm in suburbia - not deep in the countryside.

I am at 276 species so far this year! I am 135 behind target, which is a lot, but there are still some massive groups that I have barely scratched the surface of. I did my first plant-focused day, and I got lots of new stuff! @sussexwildlife.bsky.social

Hot? Our wildlife is feeling it too! 🥵 Here are four ways to help your garden visitors stay cool this summer. 👇
A colourful graphic titled 'Help wildlife beat the heat' with illustrations and tips on creating natural habitats. Tips include letting grass grow long to provide cool refuge for insects, planting shrubs for shade, setting up shallow water stations for hydration, and creating muddy puddles to help nesting birds, amphibians and reptiles. The scene depicted shows a garden for wildlife, with long grass, pools of water, trailing plants and a muddy puddle set against a fence. The sun is pictured in the top right in orange hues.

Bringing UNO no mercy on a filming trip to a remote island. What could possibly go wrong? Sounds like the start of a murder mystery. Four people go onto a Scottish island, but only three leave. The victim has a plus 10 in their hand. What could have happened I wonder...

I am currently at 185 species out of 1000 for the year, which is good, but I am behind schedule by 78. The year is still long, and I am yet to get any dragonflies, or do moth trapping. I have been focusing on ground beetles which means lots of log flipping! #PSL @sussexwildlife.bsky.social

Smooth, Palmate and Great Crested Newts have made my total species seen this year sit at 147. I am currently slightly behind my target, but I am yet to tap into plants and insects. I've seen 86 bird species so far, and 21 different species of fungi.
