I had been trying to grab this style in this colorway for ages. Their spindles are so lovely. Them and Spanish Peacock are my favorites I think. Worth saving for although the second hand market has some lucky finds for these too!

Hey so real quick during the heat wave I've seen people recommending Liquid IV and it's good stuff! Don't have more than one of that brand in particular per day or you can end up with electrolyte toxicity. We've had people end up in the ER during camping events from it.

Hopefully that will help you get started. It's a little tricky at the beginning but with practice it gets easier. I also saw someone say make an extra extra long hoop leader and practice spinning that for a while to get the feel of it twisting and uptaking on to the bobbin. Happy spinning!

Ok, first, there's no need to cross thread. If it were the old hook style maybe but with these springs that way madness lies. Stick to one side. Next, thread the leader through the bigger plastic lined loop, and then the same side hook towards the front of the flyer and then through the orifice

Why is the cat coming out of the picture on top of the "dresser?" I assure you, even if this were a converted dresser, the proportions and perspective are still off. If it were a longer dresser the size needed to hold the contents below, it would have way more space on top.

Came here to say just this. Learned the hard way to only steam a bit (what you plan on spinning) at a time because it will recompact. (At least this is the case with Malabrigo brand roving.)

Yeah, have heard reports of a lot of color bleeding even after soaking. But the colorways are just so pretty that I keep buying it, LOL. I once hand carded a bunch and got this beautiful muted almost labradorite color to the yarn.

I continue to practice supported spindling. I really an finding preparation of fiber makes a huge difference. I am having a much easier time with rollags and punis than I was with straight combed top or roving for this style spinning. Who knows, long draw may be on the horizon! #handspinning 🧶

Steaming it was a game changer for me with Malabrigo Nube. I bought a ton of it for a blanket project so I have also been experimenting running it through the drum carder to make batts or hand carding rollags of it. Both have interesting results on the color ways.

Oh, it's Malabrigo Nube causing you to struggle. I recommend getting an inexpensive steamer and steaming the Nube roving to open up the fibers a bit. And even THEN you still have to prep it more and pull at it to fluff it up. Predrafting is your friend here. Good luck!
