Maak het onderscheid. Demonstreren met je zware machines hoeft niet. Het enige doel is intimidatie. Want protesteren kun je ook zonder. Gewoon op een veld, staan op een snelweg, vastlijmen, als dat je ding is. Je kiest een tractor, niet als symbool maar omdat je weet dat ze je niet kunnen stoppen.

Fascinerend betoog van de mensen die ageren tegen schoolsluitingen. Het laatste en zwaarste middel en er is meer tussen open en dicht. Maar betoog Rosenmöller: 'Conclusie moet zijn: we gaan geen scholen meer sluiten', is bijzonder kortzichtig om als algemene stelregel te handhaven.

With a roughly 50% confirmed, that would be a high number. That said the case definition of suspect cases is broad and complex. It underlines the importance of using every outbreak to retrospectively test case definitions. But also the need for diagnostics closer to facilities. Why?

Data comes from #INRB in #DRC (one of the main national labs and research institutes). What this would indicate is that there is no approved of currently field-trialed vaccine available (Ervebo (rVSV-ZEBOV, is only proven effective against the Zaire strains and highly effective). #ebola

The current #Ebola Outbreak in #DRC is worrying. Over 65 person died, and close to 250 people are suspect cases. There isn't lab confirmation for all cases, but the fact it is taking place in areas with high mobility and numbers are high is worrying. #africacdc is getting experts together now.

Every outbreak is a tragedy. Having worked on outbreaks in Europe but mostly on those having more severe impact further away from Europe. I must say I am humbled (not in a good way) with the amount exposure #Hanta on a cruiseship gets, not just by media, but also experts.
