-Blasphemy just does a better version of If You Break Up With Me's joke of "song that's a bop with really dark lyrics." I'm not super familiar with the genre but I can appreciate the idea of "Take Me To Church/Unholy but make it actually sacrilegious". -Jambo and Break Up With Me are so so so good.

-Sometimes a song's joke is just "look how good Kyle is at emulating a specific style" - Freak Out doesn't have much comedy in it but it's such a good "Lindsay Lohan's Drama Queen/Hoku's Perfect Day"-style Radio Disney song that would be SO easy to slip into a 2003 playlist and have nobody notice.

- Most of his songs are baseline good with maybe the exception of Congratulations which is a bit too schlocky for its own good, feels like a half-baked Bill Wurtz song. - Hero of Fallujah is a joke that's definitely been done before, it's very South Park, but it's a very strong version of the joke.

Kyle Gordon's new album is out and it absolutely fills the "Weird Al style parodies"-shaped hole in my heart. Ranking the songs I'd go: 9. Congratulations 8. I'm A Whore 7. We Are the Zorg 6. Horniest Kid in School 5. Hero of Fallujah 4. Freak Out 3. Blasphemy 2. Mr. Jambo 1. If You Break Up With Me

Finally playing Donkey Kong 64 on Switch and I gotta say, even after a few decades this game still gets a perfect 5/5 on the “Oh Banana” meter

The summer I first got membership for RuneScape I don't think I played a single other video game. My sister had Ruby so I at least got to experience it vicariously through her hahaha

Whipped up one of those 9 Games that Shaped Who I Am lists; fun to think about games that led to friendships and communities as opposed to just a normal "these are my favorite games" list, although it still hurt to only include two Donkey Kong games on here

The Nine Games that Shaped Who I Am: Donkey Kong 64, Banjo-Kazooie, RuneScape, Kirby Air Ride, Paper Mario, Pokemon Sapphire Version, Donkey Kong Barrel Blast, Pikmin 2, and Legends of Runeterra.

The WarioWare: Move It! Top Tracks playlist features the "Ba-KAW Rap" in every language which is just such a fantastic bit on the part of the Nintendo Music team, well done to all involved.

“On one adventure we met Conker, a squirrel that PEES on things! He later helped me overthrow a magic pig man from space, and he later became king when a Nazi weasel’s coup attempt went awry. You ever watch the ‘Alien’ films? It was exactly like that. Once again, I’m Diddy Kong.”

Diddy Kong introduces himself to Pauline in Racing Layer.

Almost two years ago I made my custom Runeterra Garen constellation, and while I was off on a lot of stuff, very happy to see that the real thing also includes a version of “Garen silences the thing he’s striking” - always felt like a very thematic approach for Garen and I’m glad the devs agreed!

Four and a half hours of perfection (which honestly feels insane for an N64 game, I can’t believe how many songs there are)

I admit I'm maybe not as "plugged in" with what the DK youths consider "hip," so I have no idea how hot these takes are, but I nominate the Sub-Map Shuffle from DKC3, Landfill Layer: Trashtopia from Bananza, and the DKJr Remix from the bonus level in Returns! www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMvY...

The Adult Swim 25th anniversary special was mostly "eh" with some really strange character choices/omissions and some REALLY unfunny jokes but they absolutely nailed the 21/24 scene so I can't be that upset.

For the most part the music in Radiance Layer is just “fine”, it’s a little too lowkey and environmental for my tastes, but I favorited this song anyway because I can’t believe Donkey Kong Bananza has an area called Window Viper in it.

My first reaction was that it meant we’d probably be getting a “Donkey Kong Series Selects” playlist in the near future but considering there’s a good chance they’d drop that in tandem with a new soundtrack I like your thought process way better

A health bar being a post-game optional unlock that doesn’t actually do anything because you can never drop below one health is one of the funniest things Nintendo has done in a long time.
